Seachmall
I would go as far as to say that Scientology abides by the law today more then they did in the 70's, when they got busted for Snow White and had their headquarters raided worldwide. I'm not sure. John Duignan, an ex-Sea Org member, confirmed that they still work in infiltrating local governments. They may have scaled things down but they're still active in that 'department'. When they got busted for Operation Snow White they shut down that echelon, The Guardians Office, and re-opened it under a different name, Office of Special Affairs. K^2
If they do something illegal, bust them. Charge these responsible. A person who convinces other to commit crimes is also responsible for these crimes. There are laws to that effect. I've got nothing against people getting arrested for committing crimes. That's how it should work. Just as long as people working cases can remain objective, and investigate allegations without assuming that they are true from start. All I'm saying is that you shouldn't try to shut down the organization. You should be going after people who commit crimes. If organization is really a bad one, this will undermine its structure enough to cause it to collapse. If there are enough people there who genuinely believe, and chose to remain within bounds of the law, let them be. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
