Playstation_Loyalist
Since posting in the boxing topic will just occasionally change the topic, which is redundant, 'll gonna post a separate topic about this upcoming fight after Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao's. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. bet Ricky Hatton as the eventual winner of the bout pitting Hatton and Pacquiao. Meanwhile, Oscar De La Hoya spitted words against Floyd as he put his hat over Pacquiao's side. Yet that's only an appetizer. The main fight of 2009 will pit Pacquiao and Mayweather, Jr., the boxing icons being debated by boxing enthusiasts on the title "Best Pound-for-Pound Boxer". Pacquiao already has 40+ wins, 2 draws and 4 loses, and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has 37 wins with no losses after retirement in 2007. In your view, who will be the best pound-for-pound boxer of this generation, those almost in par with Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier? I go for Pacquaio, not because we both have the Filipino pride and legacy, but because he has the heart and doesn't cheat. Floyd Jr. has been known to "false" cheats on-ring. So Pacquiao is my pound-for-pound boxer. Who's yours? Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Manny Pacquiao
muscularmatt
Such a hard question, it's one of those where 12 rounds of boxing certainly wasn't, and isn't enough to find out. You'd need half a dozen meetings between the two, and I'd love every second of it. Tbh, technically, I think Mayweather just takes it. But Pacman certainly has the better attitude, and would be better over a length of time - take the round limmit up a few then see what happens... ryuclan
I'd say the boy Money Mayweather... Manny definitely has more class but MM is just an athlete. I agree with Matt, it would take more then one meeting to determine who's the best.
muscularmatt
tbh, what i'd REALLY want to see was a real boxing match (or any other kind of real fight for that matter) between floyd and paul wight (the bigshow)
CrocodileDundee
I think that Pacquiao is the best boxer so far in the 21st century ahead of mayweather. But idk head to head I think that mayweather might win it, he is a bit more technicly skilled. Paquiao is great but if this fight where to be in welterweight I see mayweather winning it, we haven't seen pacquiao fighting a real live prime boxer in welterweight (oscar dela hoya was weight drained and past prime) still great win though considering Pac fought in super-featherweight the same year... But I think that we will have to see how he does in the Hatton fight. And Hatton is no push-over, he is physicly stronger and in his prime. Hatton is a monster in junior welterweight, so I wouldn't be so shure that Pac gets by him. Edited February 18, 2009 by CrocodileDundee
