ARSENALFC
I would still be able to play TLAD even with a scratched GTA IV disc? as when i am playing GTA IV it always crashes halfway through any mission that i try, but if i DL TLAD, i may not have this problem. manofpeace
Have you tried to install GTA IV on your harddrive? It may fix it.

nlitement
Apply toothpaste to your DVD.. like so: Put paste over the DVD, "massage" it with your thumbs so that the scratches get filled, then rinse it and keep rubbing it until there's no more paste, then dry it. Don't do that - don't mess with your hardware. It will be way more expensive to fix the drive then getting a new disk or even a new game. Here in germany some game distributors for PC-Games replace damaged media for a moderate fee - 15€ I think including postage and packing. Just check from your GTA4 manual (somewhere in the back near the license agreement) or ring up the distributors support if this is possible. From a jurisdictional (?spelt right?) point of view, you pay for the license when you buy a game - not for the medium (like the CD, DVD, BRD). When the mediums broken, you still paid for the game and should have the chance to get your game back running. Try this - its the cost / risk optimal way. For a quick fix: The install-to-harddrive-solution sounds promising. While loading the game, it will just check if the right disk is inserted and load the rest from the harddrive. Dingdongs
You can get a new IV on ebay for 12 bucks like I did. I had it on PC then I switched over to a 360 copy and got a nice used copy with no scratches for 12 bucks in total.

Did I say "DVD drive"? Yeah, I just gave him advice to pour water over his 360. This is an old and known trick that works wonders if you do it properly, and no, it won't break anything unless you completely skip the rinsing and drying part. ARSENALFC
Thanks for the help, i ended up going with the install to hard drive idea and it is now working perfectly without any crashes (touch wood). I am just about to go out and buy some Micrsoft points to get TLAD! Cant wait.
