I want to know this too. Also why do some people think that the Frag FX is cheating?

It's technically a mouse and keyboard, and if you have ever played shooters with mouse + keyboard there is no going back to a controller. This is why I play console games with AA on and have ditched FPS's altogether (at least on consoles).

Wrong! Its technically half a controller (digi-pad, analog stick, shoulder buttons) for the left hand and a mouse (including the usual trianglesquarecircleX + two mouse buttons replacing the shoulder buttons) for the right hand! No keyboard at all!

I wouldn't go that far to call it "cheating", but you def. get an advantage playing AA-off games against peepz that use a regular PS3-controller, when it comes to aiming, which is deadly when you playing with "blips all".

Wheather it's cheating or not, I def. have more respect for people that can know how to use the analogsticks of a controller right, than guys that spend 60 buckz for a controller (with which EVERYBODY can be a great shooter at least, wonder how driving would be) just to own people online. But that's just my 0,02€...

Alright folks...

Here is the shinizzle on the FragFX:

I bought it like 2 weeks ago.

1st. DblDeagle is correct...it is a mouse for right hand with buttons he mentioned added, and a 'chuck' for the left; like the Wii.

2. It is somewhat programmable; you can set buttons to what you want and change button sensitivity.

This gives you a small advantage over normal controllers in that you can customise the FragFX to your own comfort.

Ok...for the 'cheating' parts...

The FragFX has two EXTRA buttons the normal PS3 controllers don't:

1. sensitivity wheel; with this 'scroll' type wheel, you can set sensitivity of movement up and down, and here is the cool part, you can do this IN-GAME! So, you can set your view and move sensitivity to match different scenarios.

2. The Frag Button; This is what most ppl are bitching about when it comes to this controller. With the Frag button, you can enter a 'slow-motion' type of thing while aiming. Basically, you come up on an apponent, take aim like normal (L2 for default) then hit the Frag button and all the normal jerkiness is gone and you can now 'fine-tune' your shot...meaning those headshots become VERY easy to accomplish.

The thing is, though, that if you are not comfortable playing games with a mouse like you do playing PC games, will NOT like this controller. If on the other hand, you have consistantly played PC games and like them, you will probably love this thing.

This is why I do NOT like the FragFX. It would take me forever to get comfortable with the different layout of the FragFX, and the "Cheating" you can do with it does me no good if I can't control my character.

Also, moving your view with a mouse is a huge pain to me; you have to move the mouse in the direction you want to face, pick it up and move it over, put it back down and move it in the direction again...over and over til you are facing the right direction. This, in itself, would get me killed in no time flat.

The bottom line is that it is strictly a personal preference thing. As long as a user is not using the Frag button or sensitivity wheel, then it is just the exact same controller with a different configuration...that is all.

I personally used it twice, didn't like it, and immediately turned around and sold it (to someone from this forum, actually). Lost about $30 overall, but was glad to get a chance to try it out.

I just don't like it. confused.gif

EDIT: Oh yea...and the Driving was damn near impossible for me with it...never could figure how ppl played racing games on a PC w/a keyboard and mouse...

I heard there uncomfortable

and terribly made.

and the buttons are stiff and hard to press.

It IS uncomfortable to me...but a PC gamer would probably disagree.

As far as quality, I found it be on par with a normal PS3 duoshock controller.

The buttons are EXTREMELY stiff without the upgraded utility (free download @ splitfish.com) to adjust button sensitivity, which fixes the stiffness problem like a 60 year old, toothless crack whore...(unless you like that sorta thing...lol)
