noid449
im thinking that is the 775 chip .. and ddr ram yo uneed to make sure that the board supports the same socket as the chip and the same ram other than that seems good to go , you prob will struggle still tho Edited February 16, 2009 by noid449
JokeStarz
im sorry i don't know much about computers but what is ddr ram?
noid449
goto where ever you saw the board and see spec and match them with the hardware you already have ram comes in alot of flavours and chips (cpu ) have different pins your still on the very low end of the spec required if you actually reach it , maybe a complete new system would be more cost effective , ie core 2 duo / quad core ddr2 /ddr3 ram and at least a 7 series mother board then your only just meeting the requirements if it just for gta iv your wanting to play maybe the console would be a better cheaper option Edited February 16, 2009 by noid449

noid449
im not being rude but you dont have much knowledge of pc`s you prob end up with a total waste of money and still not running it if you have the cash id recomend getting a pre built system. if your cash is short then id advise the console , no hardware requirements to worry about
anus
Give us a budget and tell us where you live and I'll try and get you the best possible upgrade for the price. You don't need to change the motherboard. Just get a new graphics card, and 4GB of RAM would do. You could just overclock the CPU and save some cash, or you could spend some cash and get a new processor itself . Like I said before, a budget would really help . juscal
Quite frankly if you don't know what DDR RAM is then I suggest you don't touch your PC. It's people like you - no offense - that attempt to ugprade parts, fail, and wonder why something has blown up, or short circuited, or broken. If I were you, I'd pack the the computer up, print out a list of the GTA IV requirements, take both to a PC build/repair shop and get them to upgrade the parts that you specify. They WILL know what they're doing, and what parts work with what. Plus, they WILL know what DDR2 RAM is.
