Unless you've built some in that space, you don't own it. If thats a cave below your property and someone comes along and builds there, you have no right to ask them to leave or destroy their property, doing so will be considered griefing. Some of you feel you can spread out and if there is something that is in your 'boundaries' that it is automatically in the wrong place.

Server is down for a couple of minutes, my life is temporarily on hold.

We are experiencing some issues with the server today, parts of the world is currently corrupt, restoring from a backup at the moment that was taken this morning. I do apologize for the downtime and hope to resume normal operation ASAP.

 

Any work that has been done since the backup, will be lost. Sorry.

Hey, not server related, but I created this sig. made it from the, 'Powered by Redstone' T-shirt that you can actually buy, which I got the phrase from thought it was pretty cool. But what do you think of this signature, I plan to use it here (which gladly replaces my really old one that I've had for ages for a forum game) with this and on the minecraft forums.

Any server updates and any downtime will be posted on here and the twitter account gtafmc.

 

I've decided that Monday is going to be maintenance day, at some point during monday I'll give about an hours notice and then take down the server to perform:

 

• Full backup of the server

• Update the server

• Update the plugins

• Remove any redundant plugins

• Generate a cartography of the map

• Ensure white list is current and up to date.

 

This will be carried out as quickly as possible, this is to ensure the server is running as stable as it can be, considering the recent downtime to day.

So we were thinking about puttinh in some street names for the many roads in our small town. A popular suggestion was to name the roads after GTA characters. Anyone object to that?

It doesn't actually take that long to render. This is mine, ptikobj and zenibryum's (and a few others) old world.

It doesn't like that long to render? I've used mintographer to generate one, and tried to get the best zoom level I can, without taking up nearly 1GB of space on my hosting, and 30 mins to render, then 2 hours to upload... I've got one on the upload, but its got 200mb to go.

Haha okay well it didn't take that particular map that long. I think it rendered in ~10 minutes or something around that region. Uploading it was a pain in the butt though.

 

If I remember correctly the script I used to render it checked for changes within the map so it would only render a chunk if it had been altered which saved a lot of time. Consider using Dropbox for hosting the map as well; since the script only updates chunks that have been changed then Dropbox won't keep re-uploading the same files

 

Of course you can do what you want, I'm just throwing a few suggestions out there.
