I would almost say it's time to upgrade to a bigger slot already...

 

I guess we see how this works out, some people are just going to stop playing and not everybody is going to be on.

 

Also, about the talking what are we going to use Skype, or Teamspeak or Mumble.

 

Something free preferably.

I'd say we don't need to, through timezone differences and jazz I reckon 10 should see us through, and as I've mentioned to Ottae, after the newness has worn off we'll be left with a good group of players. So 10 should be plently.

I was checking up on teamspeak, it's apparently free "for non-commercial entities". The extent of the free features is unkown to me right now but I am checking it out.

 

@gangsta, yeah, that's what I was saying, people will die off, simple as.

 

This is from wiki about team speak:

 

he TeamSpeak 2 EULA for the server allows private hosts to create their own server for free as long as the maximum number of servers and slot counts configured on each server does not exceed any one of the following configurations of 1000 slots:[3]

10 servers, 100 slots each

4 servers, 250 slots each

2 servers, 500 slots each

1 server, 1000 slots

 

So no need to pay on teamspeak....lol

 

Skype is the same way, free if everybody in the group has skype.

Seems like if we can get a teamspeak server hosted we may also be alright there. Skype is good but requires dialing up and all that jazz at least with teamspeak it's instant connect.

Annoying, wastes time, and you can hear people scream just before they get blown up by creepers.

 

Also, I think it is Teamspeak we need to go with. We are never going to get over 1000 people....jeez.

Can use a mixture, if people want to use text chat they can, if people want to use teamspeak they can as well. It's easier to talk than type, as we found out last night. Trying to warn of a creeper behind was a bit late, after it blew up!

 

Also with TS, people could join the channel but not necessary be in the game, maybe waiting for a slot to open up?

i guess we make sure everybody makes their username on there the same as here.

 

If we had TS yesterday people would have heard an epic scream from me. We were clearing out a circuit room and TWO creepers come out of a hole that I was blocking off. In real life I screamed bloody murder!

The room was clear but their was a path to darkness.

I'm pretty sure last night, xboxless did scream after being ambushed by three creepers in the redstone room! Just after I'd said that it's clear...

You should plant torches in the pathways of darkness, or fill them up. The grunts and groans of mobs can get REALLY annoying.

Gangsta i dont know what you did but i ban you from spawning stuff!!!! i had to roll back the map to the version i passed on last night because the map wouldnt load again!

 

last thing before it went wrong in the console window shadow spawned some 67 or something like that! If thats that mod you were talking about last night that magically appeared i dont think its working correctly and breaking server!

You'll have to mine everything MLVD, only ops can use the /give command and even then it shouldn't be used.

The temp server had to be reset, so anyone who has done anything today it has been lost. Even though this map isn't staying.

A 10 server slot should be enough then, it's not like everyone will be playing 24/7.

What texture packs is everyone using. I'm using Enji's Texturepack. I like it because it actually makes coblestone look good and not horrible like it is with the original textures.

I'm using mixcraft, which is pretty much a better version of the default texture pack.

I'm using the one that is used in the Yogscast, I forget the name. It's pretty sexy.

 

The server; 10 slots sound good for it, with the time zones, work shifts, ect. I think it will rarely be full with 10 people, then again, I could be horribly wrong. If there's anything I can do to help with the permanent server, let one know.
