I'd definitely recommend Bukkit. It's the way forward. Perhaps a Chest Protection plugin would be good to add too

Yeah it is, never used it myself but alot of server owners swear by it. I didn't realise they'd added whitelist, don't often play MP.

If we use a white list, we could share the IP in the topic and only people who have been white listed can join anyway. That way we won't have randomers coming in and f*cking sh*t up.

I was playing on one smp server and if you put down an iron block it protected a certain area from being tampered with. You could even set who was able access it. You could have an area protected but it still allowed certain people to mess with it.

 

The good thing is that it took some time to get an iron block so it wasn't too overpowered.

Once I get all squared awaqy (drivers license) I should be getting a job soon. I will definitely donate a bit then.

 

I think as long as we keep it to only GTA forumers we should be pretty good on the griefer count.

That would be me, the zombie has probably come from the stone mine tunnels. Ah well, eventually the mines are going to have doors.

Yeah sounds good, I'll see if I can merge an old topic of mine with minimal replies so I can control the first post properly. If anyone griefs or whatever the first step would be stopping them going on the server.

 

@Quiteso - Sure! Anyone from GTAF is free to join, just keep in mine it's only a 10 slot server, but if it gets more popular I can always rent more space

Better leave it to just you guys for the time being, you don't want to overload it! Plus you might get randomers coming on.

Apparently the server is fing up oysters comp.

 

We did a lot of things today, built a wall, Gangsta and his geniousness built a master lever that opens and closes all three iron doors.

 

If I can get my hands on the level .dat I will make a cartography.

My first foray into the map, Uni's house on the left, with mine on the right with dirt doors, lol. And a creeper waiting to blow the hell out of me!

We decided a wall with iron doors was needed to keep them out of our base.

The doors in the wall are operated by buttons on the in and outside near the door, however the doors can be locked open by the use of the master lock switch. When the lock switch is off and the doors closed. Each door can be opened invidually by the buttons near the door.

Uni's house has been dubbed the house of horrors!

 

Why? Because during the night all sorts of creepie crawlies spawn in there. You go in there and you might get a face full of arrows.

 

Alot has changed since that picture!

Uni's house needs a roof and more lights! That way we wont get skeletons or zombies in there! Then again I need to sort out the 'stonemine' section of my lower level, I keep getting mobs spawning in there.
