Been playing 1.6 for a few days now. Enjoying myself immensely, although I've noticed a few bugs in Creative Mode. One is that Creepers, Witches, Withers, Skeletons and Zombies won't come after you if attacked.

I don't believe that is a bug!

They did before 1.6.1. Granted, they would lose interest after a short while, but they did come after you.

As far as I'm aware it is a feature.

Nah, they didn't always follow you in 1.5 either, I think the 'feature' was implemented in 1.4, maybe 1.5.

Played Minecraft on the PC properly for the first in ages. I am f*cking lost. I have to admit though, I seemed to enjoy playing it more than the 360 version. Just has something about it (apart from the quality & the updates).

The controls are so clunky as hell on the xbox version, if they sorted that out it would be awesome. You should get yourself on the GTAF server, multiplayer is much more enjoyable. Although we are on a temp map for a few days while we sort out plugins and things after the update.

I think I will actually. Still trying to get the hang of the controls on PC. Can't recall the last time I played it, the 1.6 update if brilliant.

Thanks man, I worked on it for a few weeks to be fair. I had some help from Kirsty deleting all the ground on the inside down to bedrock, the rest was mind numbing repetition.

So, I was continuing to play on my Survival world on 1.6.2 and I found baby Zombie Pigman and Zombie. First time seeing them spawning naturally.

On Wednesday, LEGO announced the fast-approaching launch of two brand new Minecraft kits: the "Nether" and "Village" sets! The two sets will have, as previous sets, stylized recreations of a segment of the Nether, and a villager's village, respectively. The Village set will include blocks for constructing houses, along with the Pig, Villager, and Zombie figures! The Nether kit will have Netherrack, gravel blocks, and lava blocks, as well as two Ghasts and a Zombie Pigman.

 

It is expected that the set will sell for approximately $34.99, and will be available starting September 1st, 2013!

 

I'll need to make more room on my desk for these two sets...

Does anybody else live underground? I moved from the edge of a Jungle biome to this location. Useful as there is a cave system and a ravine just below me.

Yeah that's always my place to live. I find it so much easier because with enough lighting I don't have to

worry about monsters constantly bugging me.

 

My favorite thing to do is make it so I can completely survive underground.

I make it so that I could not go outside once and still be able to survive for a long time (or even forever)

Underground is also better for making rooms because all you have to do is mine away, instead of wasting

materials on building things.

I sort of do. The main area is outside but covered by a mountain of dirt and lots of Trees and I'm digging down to make more rooms underground.

I usually start off living underground, then gradually move up to the surface and make a nice house. Sometime's I'll have a minecart that connects my surface house and a cave house so I can choose to go down and explore for a while if I want.

I don't play, but Juicetra, the guy I watch play minecraft built everything under a mountain to start with, then transitioned to building a village outside along with a mountain top house and a whole bunch of other bits and pieces above ground.

 

If I was playing I would build underground in the jungle, then make awesome tree houses I reckon.

Disabling Cave Spider spawners is damn hard. I'm walking for 10 minutes from Point A to B looking for a way to torch up the spawner without getting killed by 5 Spiders at once. Disabled one already but second one is hard because it is higher and on a bridge over a small ravine.

EDIT: Finally disabled it. I went to the first spawner and there was 2 other spawners so I went back and there was no spiders. Quickly got rid of Cobweb and torched up the Spawner. It's my second Cave Spider Spawner ever disabled without going to Peaceful mode.

EDIT 2: Disabled third spawner. Cave Spiders still spawn at the second one but behind a wall in a cave. Now, at the third spawner I just disabled I will have to fight a bunch of them at once.

...and a Skeleton.

EDIT 3: Found 2 more spawners. Blocked them off, went out to clear the mineshaft and then returned to both and torched them. Then I wanted to go back and 3 Spiders at once ninja'd me from above.

EDIT 4: Cleared out entire Mineshaft. Spiders still spawn even though I disabled every spawner. I got 6 and a half stacks of string

Edit: My diamond pickaxe is about to break and I only have 2 diamonds left. I'll probably be going on a diamond hunting trip soon...

1.7 New Info

 

New Biome

There will be Podzol block which is like a Dirt/Grass block. The new biome will have this block.

 

When 1.7 comes out, my game will lag heavily. (Proof from FTB Ultimate mod pack which has a Redwood-type biome in it. When looking at these giant trees (like the ones in pic), my game is like a slideshow.)

Extreme Hills aren't new, they've been in Minecraft for a long time now, that picture is just to show that Jeb is working on (and possibly fixed, or atleast nerfed) the bug where there's random areas which are just pitch black when they shouldn't be.
