I've finally finished flattening out the land in the castle. Now to add buildings :

Finally bought the game. Bloody hell, 1600 points cost $32 in my country.

 

Really loving it, even though I'm a loner in my world. I like how you can upload screenshots directly into Facebook. Gonna have fun with that.

 

I hate how fast the in-game clock runs though. It's far too fast for me.

 

What are some good seeds to put in when creating a world? I always tend to leave it blank.

I played the trial version of 360 Minecraft, it's pretty good - for a port.

 

You can never get that inventory management with the speed and ease of using a mouse and keyboard. Also it's very difficult to get the sort of rhythm if like you were playing on PC. You can do things pretty fast when you get the hang of it with a controller, however somethings like combat, jumping and general 'flow' is better on PC. I use hotkeys 1 though 5 and that's real efficient as I can choose to mine, shovel, slice, shoot and place a block within an instant and having torches on 9 a scroll it's real fast. Also being able to look while jumping is helpful too.

 

Playing on the 360 I feel like a real newbie as I can't react as fast as I normally would. I got heaps of damage while fighting mobs because if they catch me unaware I get to hear them just before they are close enough to hit me, I can switch to my sword, bow or blocks but hitting the left and right bumpers seems harder for me to work with. Also with the old health system back I always had to resurface to find pigs to recover health, ha.

 

Also I found that the lighting is really dark, too dark I think. Or maybe it's just me. I always play with 50% brightness in the settings (which is kinda like cheating because it's like night vision) and night should be that dark 'cause it makes sense - you're not supposed to have night vision. I might get it for the local multi potential but I wouldn't play it alone.

How the Hell do I play on split-screen mode? Can't find the option to do so.

You just plug in a second controller or turn it on and press start ingame if i remenber correctly.

Yeah just realized that you need a HDTV to do split-screen. Damn it. Oh well.

 

Don't have Gold yet, probably getting it next week. Really interested in trying the MP portion of the game.

just found out that with field of view on maximum you have double to treble the striking distance zombies and spiders cant get close!

I think if you feed them fish they'll become your pets too.

Feed it raw fish,and it becomes a cat,sits in your furniture,is cute.Then with two you can make cute kittens.

 

Also,they scare creepers.Not joking.

I spent half of my day the other day building a giant treehouse. I need to make more just like it and make an Ewok village.

I think it was a mistake for me to buy this game during my exam period. Oh well, education can go f*ck itself.

 

I'm currently building this castle called Mount Kickass. Pretty sweet place, will post pics of it soon. Also, apparently there are two squids living on the top of my castle. Go figure.

 

Playing this game reminds me of Skyrim, so I'm thinking of building Dragonsreach, hell maybe the entire Whiterun. Anybody up for it? Gamertag: littlegreendot

Aha, was having the same dilemma but got Minecraft anyway. With exams and all, I figured a pick up and play game would be best suitable for now. Max Payne can wait.

Haha, I had a squid spawn in a tree on mine.

 

I also had a spider inside my house, even though it wouldn't be able to fit through the door; so I have no idea how it got in there. Quite enjoying it to be honest. Not addicted to it "yet" luckily as I only go on when my mate is online. Going to get started on a big ass tree house near this stone house we built.

So on a server my friends and I have one of them has started a replica of the WTC towers. I don't know what scale ratio they are, but they are apparently to scale to some degree:

I've gotta ask since I haven't been able to find this out yet, how do you lay planes of glass flat on the ground like that?

 

Everytime I try it just makes those cubes with holes in the top and bottom and look ugly as sh*t lol

You have to use glass blocks, not glass panes.

Yeah I used glass blocks, just smelt Sand in a furnace. I wasn't even aware there was glass panes

In PC version there is Glass Panes - but in Xbox there isn't (as it's BETA 1.6, they wasen't made yet)

Looks awesome.Sucks that I don't have a XBOX.I had a choice between a gaming pc,a ps3 and a XBOX.I chose the pc because otherwise I'd have to share the pc,besides,on the PC I can download games.

Haha, well the squid is still living up there even when I finished the rooftop swimming pool.

 

Mount Kickass is almost done. Check out the unfinished bridge I'm creating. Also, f*cking clouds.
