True, but I always found the piston tables to look better than the fence post and pressure plate ones.

Well in here says that you'll be poisoned.

 

Also question, how do change time in Creative mode?

You should be able to use F6 and F7 to change time in single player creative mode.

I tried eating zombie flesh but nothing happened. It might work the same as the cave spider poison; your hearts turn green and slowly decrease. It stopped poisoning me when I dropped from full to 3 hearts. I presume eating food makes it stop quicker.

Lots of interesting bugs in this release, the old smelting crashes the game trick is back along with some rather dodgy biome code that definitely needs sorting out.

 

But now we've actually got a 'release' of 1.8, Mojang can delay the actual release of 1.8, until it is perfect, hopefully resulting in less patches.

Lets just hope they fix the world generator. Spawning on an island in a the middle of a giant ocean is not very fun.

Endermen are easier than I expected. When you have a Diamond Sword they aren't any threat. I will say thought that the teleport system is well done; an Endermen teleported onto a nearby cliff when attacking me and I ended up spinning round a few times trying to find where the hell it went.

Yeah, I believe those towns are called 'Strongholds', every time you make a world, there will be one town generated, not more

 

But I have found a deep cave, I really hope to find mineshafts

 

 

 

I've just build my house there, I"ll never forget where I live due to that weird rock

And by the way, those glass plates are nice

Yeah, I believe those towns are called 'Strongholds', every time you make a world, there will be one town generated, not more

Strongholds are actually these:

 

They're similar to dungeons, apparently, with "multiple rooms, doors and other aspects".

 

The towns you speak of, Lightning Strike, are simply NPC villages. The actual NPC's haven't been added yet.

I think I'm having an issue with the new 1.8 pre release. Although I'm not sure if it's an issue or an intentional change. When right-clicking to place blocks, you can usually hold the button down and blocks will be constantly placed right? Now I only place one block and have to click again per block, the same happens with attacking animals; I have to click once per attack. But destroying blocks works the same as before, hold the button on you strike until it breaks. Is this an intentional feature or something I can change back? It might seem insignificant but it's a pretty big deal.

The Ender Pearl is an item in the 1.8 update, and it is found in the leaked 1.8 pre-release.

 

The Ender Pearl is sometimes dropped by Endermen upon death. When a player is carrying an Ender Pearl, the distance from which Endermen will become aggressive when stared at will be halved, making it somewhat easier to approach them

Is any of you testing the 1.8 mutiplayer?

 

Been doing that all day with a friend, and I didn't know if this was just me but I noticed that everytime one of us died, the experience orbs that was drop made the game lag really badly. I have to either wait 5 minutes til it's gone or I have to generate a new map

 

I'm playing with Hamachi btw, not LAN.

I did do that, and how could I get on Andrew's local server without the "leaked" jar? Did you also see that I mentioned it's laggy and can't sprint/fly in it? This is proof that I download the "leaked" jar . I know how to do that, but heck, it's hard for me to pull either one off.

 

You can't. To connect to a server that is using 1.8, your own MC client must be updated to 1.8 as well. You can only fly in creative mode, by double hitting space bar, could that be the problem or is it only lag preventing you?

 

There are points where my entire client freezes as it's generating new chunks, so maybe these bugs are making your game unplayable.

I'm a little late too as I slept since the last post yesterday, oh well.

 

I'm not a new Minecraft noob, I was playing it since March I think (think of the time near 1.2_02's end ), I know what to do with it and how to install mods. Basically if I enter, let's say a 1.7.3 server with a 1.6.6 client, what do I get? The answer is a "client outdated" error message. So if I want to enter a server that is 1.8, I have to have the "leaked" 1.8 jar in order to visit one of these servers (like Andew's).

 

 

About flying/sprinting, once again, I'm not a noob. I already know that flying is only allowed in creative, but it was laggy at that time. Heck. But man, I hope that the actual release ain't that buggy and laggy! If it is, then how gonna I play this wonderful game on my laptop and computer (the computer's specs in my sig), if it's WAY laggy? I want suggestions to make that thing speed up, probably by upgrades, because other stuff failed to me (like allocating more memory into Minecraft).

The same will happen with the leaked 1.8 if trying to connected to a 1.7 server, you'll get outdated server messages.

 

When testing creative mode out, I got no lag through the flying and infact the flying worked rather well, only annoying lag now is when generating new chunks that completely freezes the game.

 

Also for anyone on the GTAForums server, please do not add it to the server list on 1.8, polling the server is spamming the log file and generating errors.
