Yeah mines are pretty awesome. While I was discovering one i found a cave spider dungeon check out this video I made.

I love the abandoned mines. I just spend almost half an hour wandering around a huge one exploring it. The really dim lighting from the redstone torches looks brilliant, I'll definitely be using a few of them when I make the next asylum. :>

Yeah the redstone lighting is really going to make circuit rooms a whole different kettle of fish. Also I've notice different shading on some of the leaves.

I think they are too big, it took me 3 minutes in a boat to get to some land that was bigger than 25 blocks. Hell there was only one tree, and I have yet to find another one too. That tree was used to make the boat.

Nope, still 127 blocks.

Technically KM it has been 'officially' released, but we've been beta testing Minecraft since Alpha. If you want the official release you'll be waiting until November, when it is finally out of Beta status.

1.8 pre-release was the buggiest Minecraft I have seen until know. Couldn't sprint/fly, and aww, didn't see the other new features I had to wait for, like the terrain generator, villages, endermen, etc. etc.

 

I yet have to wait for the full-release to see if the old FPS will be maintained though.

 

And lol! small spiders?? useless fools!

 

Andrew, could I get on this 1.8 server to try it out least?

Huh, I knew they were going to be smaller, but I did not think they would be that much smaller. Plus have you or Kristy been poisoned yet by them? Since I was wondering how fast your health goes down when you are poisoned.

True, I haven't seen any yet in game. But looking at that picture, the enderman does not look scary. Teleporting to me seems its going to be more annoying than scary.

Okay. It's a shame I died staring at this page and waiting for a response just to deal with my curiosity, but thanks for leaving me a response.

Will wait anyways until 1.8 is "officially" released.

The oceans are far too big I reckon, can't really explore without swimming for miles and getting lost, it's either turn back or kill yourself to get back home. I had been flying for ages trying to find land, all there was were tiny islands, sometimes even only 2 random blocks. There were also ravines that spawned underneath and all the water was flowing in, you could only tell they were there because of the light shining through the water.

 

I quite like the new blocking action for swords, we can have some proper PvP fights on the server

EDIT @Diego - Andrew is hosting a local server on his Internet, it's not related to the GTAF server, it can't handle more than a few users. Why don't you back up your entire MC folder and then replace your jar file with the 'leaked' jar file and try it out?

I did do that, and how could I get on Andrew's local server without the "leaked" jar? Did you also see that I mentioned it's laggy and can't sprint/fly in it? This is proof that I download the "leaked" jar . I know how to do that, but heck, it's hard for me to pull either one off.

You can't. To connect to a server that is using 1.8, your own MC client must be updated to 1.8 as well. You can only fly in creative mode, by double hitting space bar, could that be the problem or is it only lag preventing you?

 

There are points where my entire client freezes as it's generating new chunks, so maybe these bugs are making your game unplayable.

The frame rate, really sucks with 1.8. With 1.7.3 with a vanilla minecraft, I was getting around 200 fps. Now I'm getting 50-80. But I'm not getting any lag spikes offline like I did with 1.7.3.

Can you make a redstone wire connect to something on the other side of a door?

What exactly do you mean?

I have two hatches right next to eachother, about a block or so away from the door. I want to connect redstone wire to them without having it react to the door.

Use repeaters.

 

It's not working... it's just opening the door.

Still need some help with this...

I put the repeater by the hatches, then put some redstone wire behind the door (because I couldn't put it by the reactor) then made a lever connected to the wire.

Am I doing something wrong (probably )?

Looks like now we can place pressure plates on fence posts without having to resort to bugs. Not sure if you can place them side-by-side yet or if it's like it was before, in that you can't have two touching each other.

The only reason why they did that, is that these "tables" will be in the villages. They seem to be too lazy to make a proper table block.
