Can you do it...?

I did this challenge Can you survive with a six-star wanted level, out in the open (not allowed in a vehicle, remaining on a road at all times) for in excess of 10 minutes, with only 100HP in your life slot (no Armour, you are not allowed to use weapons for this challenge, just run like hell!)?

I did it on vercetti mansion's rooftop!! biggrin.gif

The text I have bolded (Is that even a word?!) is where you went wrong. The challenge insists that you remain on a road at all times. Doing so much as standing on the sidewalk is prohibited, and I'm sorry to inform you that you are yet to complete the challenge. Simply hiding somewhere like on top of Vercetti mansion, a place where no Police Maverick, Rhino, Barracks OL, FBI Rancher, Police Cheetah and Police car can get to you, only the measly policemen on foot, equipped with their colt.45's defeats a large challenging factor, and isn't really that hard to pull off. Give it another go though mate. I'm sure, now that you're fully aware of the regulations that you'll nail it!

EDIT:alas i got hold of the map!!

but i dont know how to post it the mainpage comes

First of all, go to this exact map. Then mark out your blips, and above the map, where it says BBcode, copy the code inside the tag, then paste it into your box box here on GTAF. The end result should be like this- Click here to view the SnapMap (which is viewable by all).

Awesome work, Urban Legend!!, I was astounded by your 21 registered Unique jumps, but 31?! Wow, top draw stuff, one that definitely highlights your gaming ability, especially when stunts are involved. Though, like Hotwheels, the map you posted only links to the WikiGTA homepage. But if you wouldn't mind describing your method for the 31 jumps completed, it becomes irrelevant. Great work, though, I'll await your method before uploading your new personal best score to the table. icon14.gif

Click here to view the SnapMap After you click this, scroll to the bottom and click on the GTA SnapMap link at the bottom, sorry.

Ah ha! Well this is a rough draft. I'll get some screenshots and video footage while attempt this record on the PC. One thing though, no cinematic Unique Jumps camera, don't think this should be a problem though. biggrin.gif

Awesome work, mate. I have a couple of questions.

Spoilered for the purposes of other challenges, I'd appreciate it if you spoilered your reply as well mate. For people like Masterkraft, who will be attempting stunt jump oriented challenges, I strongly advise you not to read the following.

-How did you manage to get to the roof when completing this jump and this jump?

-How did you manage to get your bike past the locked gates in Vice city Marina to complete the two jumps on the piers?

Don't take this the wrong way, dude. I'm only interrogating you to really cement how you completed the challenge, and I do not doubt for one second that you didn't register these jumps. icon14.gif

Just kidding man! I'll get some screen shots or video on that, ASAP.

We need a "Can ya do it?" for GTAIII also. My first challenge... Power slide and kill all 4 bums in the Portland Tunnel. with or without damage to your Banshee. tounge.gif

IF you want to go ahead and create a duplicate of this topic, but in the III sub-forum, I'd have no qualms and would be all for it (just give me some of the credit, will ya?! tounge.gif). As well as this topic, I've also created a 'Can you do it...?' in the SA sub-forum (click here to view), and Flesh-n-Bone kindly asked for my permission to create a 'Can you do it...?' type topic in the VCS sub-forum (Click here to view).

I look forward to seeing this video footage, mate. icon14.gif

Again, spoilered for the benefit of others wishing to attempt any of the stunt-oriented challenges.

Awesome work, mate. You've made great use of accessing the restricted areas, with a measure of skill as well. And I just knew somebody who is as good at stunting as you would have no trouble getting onto practically any roof in the game. I just had to make sure. Brilliant job! icon14.gif

I'll go ahead and add your challenge attempt into the table. Do you think registering all 36 is doable within the time-frame, and with the obstacles in your way?

Why doesn't everyone talk like this?

Maybe one or two jumps. But right now, I can say that only 35/36 can be completed. Unless I can tear through the storyline hella quick. And get to the G-Spotlight

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

edit: I always forget to say thanks for your compliment. Thanks mate. smile.gif

Ah, but playing through the game and completing the Film Studio asset mission G-spotlight is against the rules of the challenge. It has to be done right at the very beginning of the game. wink.gif

the last unique stunt jump is not possble until G-Spotlight

I wasn't thinking straight.

-Don't read if you are wanting to attempt a Unique Stunt jump oriented challenge.

All of the jumps on top of buildings can be accessed by extreme stunters, but I completely forgot about the first Building-to-building jump you have to complete on the mission G-Spotlight, one which can only be accessed on and after that particular mission. So unless there's some insane way to get up there, I think 35 is the best you can hope for.

I did this challenge From starting a new game, can you get to the West Island, and then get back to the East Island without using any means of off-land transportation (No boats or aircraft)?

and it was very easy

i did it in two methods one with cheats and one without cheats(most probably you will put the non-cheated one so i did it)

Method 1= cheated method= first i took the admiral and pressed the cars float in water code.then i went in water and after reaching land near downtown i went to the stadium just to show i am on the west island and then turned around and then went onto ocean beach by the same process in the water.

Method 2= non-cheated method= first i took the PCJ-600 from the marina and then did the method told by spuds where you go through the barrier.then i went to escobar international airport just to show i am on the west island and then went back to the same bridge which i came from and then broke through the barrier again which made me fly forward and my PCJ-600 was still behind the barrier but i was across

hope you add my post smile.gif

and very good thing flicko that you made such a good topic lol.gif and have some cookies!! cookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gif

Naturally I won't be adding your method in where you have used cheats to your advantage. I don't like any sort of cheat being used for that reason, so will definitely exclude that from the list. In regards to your second method, I'm not quite following you. I understand the bit where you use Spuds 'Drive through barrier' technique, but I don't understand how you managed to get back through the barrier. Surely you couldn't have flown over it, as there is an invisible barricade well before the gap in the barrier, so I'm a little skeptical as to whether you have actually done it or not. What exactly happened on your way back to the East Island? Did you floor it and hit the invisible barricade head-on, which then sent you flying over the barricades and onto the East Island? I can't see that as a possibility to be honest...

See what i did was i checked where the barrier has a hole in it from the west island and then came back from the other end of the bridge at full speed and i hit the same spot. confused.gif

Please try it yourself and you will believe me. bored.gif

But that's the thing; I have tried it, multiple times. All to no avail. At least 10 feet away from the gap in the barriers is an invisible barricade, one that prevents you from getting by it. I'm playing the game on the PS2, and understand you are on the PC, yes? If that is the case, would it be at all possible if a PC-gamer could verify this?

Could I submit a challenge I completed. Do you need proof because I got no camera or w/e.

Oh and btw, the Challenge "From starting a new game, can you get to the West Island, and then get back to the East Island without using any means of off-land transportation (No boats or aircraft)?" Is strictly impossible. I have the 1st edition, the original Vice City for xbox, ps2, and pc. I played all three trying to do this and its impossible, there is no way.

But I did get there and back using cheats. I doubt it. biggrin.gif

You sure can. If you have a challenge in mind, however far-fetched and out of this World it may seem, go ahead and put it forward in this topic (Or PM me if you would rather). You do not have to provide proof or any photographic evidence what-so-ever, just go ahead and put it forward. If it appears to be only slightly possible, it will be added. In some cases, even if I think the challenge may be impossible, I will still add it to the table to really see if it is. Challenges that I know are impossible/ridiculous will not be added.

Regarding the challenge attempted above, I have always been under the impression that it is impossible myself. I too have tried numerous methods regarding getting there and back, all to no avail (Including what hotwheels83 has attempted). I do actually have another method in mind though, one that I haven't yet attempted, and think might be the answer to succesfully completing this challenge (I'll give it a shot at a later date). Have you tried the technique that hotwheels83 has attempted? I'd like further verification that this is impossible. If there is a gap in the invisible barricade, one that will take you back to the East Island, I certainly cannot find it, and would appreciate if somebody were to give this a shot as well as me.

And using cheats is a big no-no in this topic. They are strictly prohibited, and will not be recognised.

Can you complete the mission Four Iron using nothing but a Caddy?

Yes, I walked into the marker triggering the mission, got my clothes, grabbed a Caddy and I simply pushed all the Caddys into the ocean parked alongside of the structure that my target is hitting golf balls across the river and avoiding the structure that will make my target run. It took me about 2 minutes, to push the other caddys into the ocean, about. I went up to stairway with the Caddy and a bunch of suit guys came after me. I backed up and ran them over. Took me a long time. The idiot I was trying to kill went around golf links road ways around the tennis court twice, he was nearly on fire (black smoke) from me hitting him constantly with my caddy, trying to make him flip which is impossible to flip a caddy. I tried pushing him into the river, no luck. Until he went to the front metal detector. The secruity guards were after me, I ran them over and my target that I had to kill was running for the car. He was nearly at the metal detector and it wasen't easy going up those steps. I ran him over before he went through that metal detector completing the mission while staying in the caddy. Suddenly, the car that was suppose to pick him, drives off.

The aim of this topic, when posting user-submitted challenges, is for the other contributors of this topic to attempt your customised challenge as opposed to yourself. Nevertheless, great work!! icon14.gif

However, this exact challenge is already in place (Taken from the table in the first post)-

Can you complete the mission Four Iron using nothing but a Caddy? Yes -Method described in this post

-Another method described here

N/A -Completed by flicko & Spuds725

Do not fret though, although the challege has been completed twice, any completed challenge will still be added to the table, and yours is no exception. colgate.gif

Challenge Accepted

How many pedestrians can you kill in one minute, using only a knuckle duster as your weapon?

Naked Punches right? I only killed 6 considering that they run from me hitting them. 6 out of 6 peds I fought they fought back. I hit about 8 peds and they just ran off. (Wusses). One of the peds was a cop, but he isn't a ped. I got one star after killing the 5th ped.

Well i was messing around before I did this challenge and I got wasted. So I decided to go to the beach on ocean beach. I accepted the challenge and started hitting everyone on the beach. ( I was near the wallway with that wall where the shotgun spawns, then I moved up more towards the water, but not to the water, I was before you hit those beach houses were whatever you call them.) When I got one star a cop spawned out of no where, had to kill him, and had to kill my last ped until the minute was up.

Ah, good thinking. The beach, at peak times, is a place to encounter a lot of spawning peds. I must say, when I first attempted this challenge, the Beach never once sprung to mind, in regards to where exactly I was going to attempt it. I ended attempting mine at the Malibu club, and killed a total of seven people (which included two Bouncers as well, see here). It was a pain, because I was in such a compact area, and because the people who spawn in the Malibu are all aggressive, and are prone to fighting back, as well as the bouncer charging in, I ended up having a circle of folk surrounding me, all trying to beat me up. fortunately I killed them all, mind.

I think that, in terms of the right peds spawning, that the Malibu is the best for people fighting back, but the beach is superior in regards to people fleeing. Both have their plus points and negative points-

Malibu Club-

+Multiple kills in quick succession

-Multiple blows received in quick succession

The Beachfront

+You won't receive as many blows from pedestrians

-The pedestrians will flee, forcing you to chase them and waste precious seconds

I might give this a go on the Beachfront though. Will be interesting to compare it with my initial attempt.

Another good spot which isn't to compact and not to open. The Docks. Basically all peds there are aggressive and will fight back, some flee. Alot spawn near where the armour is near that ship.

This thought came in my mind, a new challenge.

Using a Trashmaster, can you jump on top of ammunation using the stairway from only starting at the cop station in downtown when the light is green?

Another one,

Using a Trashmaster, can you jump on top of ammunation in downtown using the stairway with 5 stars obtained from only starting at the cop station in downtown when the light is green without blowing up?

Another one,

Using a Caddy, can you jump on top of ammunation in downtown using the stairway from only starting at the Fire Department?

Discuss if they are easy or hard.

Sounds good. I definitely know of a few peds who will retaliate to taking a blow, namely the builders. But I also know of those who will flee, namely the Black peds who often drive the Heavy Goods vehicles in that area (The ones who seem to have a fetish for illegal substances ice-creams). The Island which is part of Washington Beach and Vicepoint may prove useful as well, due to the amount of Builders and workmen that spawn there.

Your proposed challenges sound tough. Very tough. I don't see high chances for successfully completing them, but they're certainly worth the addition. I'll give them a shot when I have a chance. Thanks mate. icon14.gif

Also, in the future, please edit your initial post instead of making a second post. It will still be read (by me at least), and double-posting usually doesn't provoke a good response.

Thirty-six is extremely impressive, mate. Great going! It's nice to see another contributor in here, thanks for taking part. icon14.gif

Could you, perhaps, elaborate on your challenge attempt? A method? Tactics? List of packages collected and whatnot? Encounter any events in your challenge attempt? Stuff like that. This isn't me doubting that you have done what you have just stated, because I don't doubt you for a second. I'm just extremely curious, and am interested to read how exactly you pulled this off.

I'll go ahead and add it to the table when you rely again, or when I can be bothered. tounge.gif

hey pich, flicko loves it when you tell him what you do and what your actions are and what you say. Picture flicko like a little boy sitting at home, loves listening to other people's stories of what they do in Vice City. And when you tell him and finish, he jumps for joy and adds your name to the table!

You really don't need proof, but if you tell your story of what you did, it all adds up and its basically evidence of what challenge you completed.

Respect icon14.gif

@flicko

No disrespect, but it suits you. Anyways, like I submitted those 3 challenges to yeah, I really didn't actually do the challenge myself. Normally I'm just goofing off and such, but really didn't come down to it. Tonight I'll do my challenges, I'll do them for hours, and to see if they are possible or impossible, but if they are possible we will secertly hold the Opens for other challengers and not have me, the maker of the challenge, successfully have my name on that table stating that I completed my own challenge, and give the glory to others, and not to myself. confused.gif

@hotwheels83

I used the glitch method on prawn island, get a PCJ 600 jump from building across from InterGlobal Films, used the Packer for a ramp and jumpe over Prawn bridge's blockade, I went to ammunation in downtown, came back and I hit that wall full throttle and I did not go through the hole or whatever your talking about, going through the blockade. i hit that invisible wall and lost like 30hp! And did not come back to the east land.

I used this method here to enter 2nd Island. (Downtown, Little Haiti)
