So, the police could actually get to you? That makes your efforts all the more impressive. I've just actually attempted this challenge again, and I gave it a go in the Little Haiti area, to see if I could sell anywhere near as many ice-creams as you. I stopped my vehicle in the gap across from Phils Place (approximately here). Many pedestrians spawned there, but I still only managed to sell a total of 7 ice-creams until a Police Maverick and a Barracks OL managed to get to me and blow my vehicle up.

With the time-frame given, it may be worth your while to cut your losses after 2 or 3 sales and keep moving, maybe circling the area, stopping in other reclusive areas to sell. I know that around Auntie Poulet's house the trees, fences and houses can cause havoc for the VCPD, despite their best efforts to fight their way through. I'd have a go myself, but I've no copy of VC at hand.

You should totally go find a used Vice disc. Should be cheap. More participation here would be great colgate.gif

Might work. Although it's extremely difficult to survive for >1 minute out in the open with a six-star wanted level. When you're in a vehicle like the Mr. Whoopee it becomes even more difficult. I don't think leaving the area, then stopping in another area out in the open would work, as you'd more than likely get smashed by the heavy artillery within seconds (I've found it nigh on impossible to stay in one fixed location out in the open for >5 seconds). But leaving the area and finding another area in an alleyway/remote place where peds spawn, or circling the area and then returning back to the original place might work for a few more sales. I'm not too sure about 26 though, that might be out of my (and many other people's) league!

Of course this challenge will all be down to luck, there'll be times when I sell 0 'ice-creams' and, who knows, there may be a time when I sell >20 'ice-creams'. I know one thing's for sure; the more times I attempt this, the better chance I have of increasing my personal best. icon14.gif

I'm also in agreement with James, here. There are, after all, 17 open challenges to attempt!

Nothing really complicated - if one knows the course well, this challenge can be completed easily. Maintaining the altitude of the plane helps in saving time. While raising or lowering the RC Baron should be done gradually. Any impulsive changes in altitude will make the plane plummet, wasting precious time.

I tried the RC Baron race but I find the plane annoying as it is really difficult to control the altitude. The heli is much better for racing tho.

Might try another challenge, but that stoyline challenge made me sick of the game, I'm trying to coll off for a while yawn.gif

Is the RC Baron Race challenge still open? It was the only one I found easy. tounge.gif

Every challenge listed on the table on the front page, completed or not, is still open for others to attempt. No matter how many complete the challenges, they will be added.

Nice to see yet another contribution! And that's another two challenges that I can now fill in. A couple of decent times as well considering. icon14.gif

Regarding the Raider challenge, on my very first attempt I was a little rusty. I hadn't attempted the mission in quite some time, but was sure I knew where all the checkpoints were. In the end I got a few things muddled up. I almost missed the checkpoint underneath the plane, and then I completely forgot about the checkpoint situated on the mobile stairs beside the terminal, which wasted many valuable seconds. Added to that, when I picked up the checkpoint on the billboard on the grass verge just across from the terminal, I went straight to the roof of the terminal thinking there was a checkpoint there! I actually confused the hidden package for a checkpoint, and wasted even more time. Now, after my first failed attempt, I am sure I know the whole route of the course, and I'm sure I'll be able to succeed with my attempt. I'll be giving it a go later on, along with multiple other challenges, just to see if I can actually do it! tounge2.gif

Nevertheless, great work, and it's nice to see your involvement with this. I'll be updating the table shortly.

Here's a couple more challenges-

-Can you survive with a six-star wanted level with only 5HP remaining, out in the open (not allowed in a vehicle) for in excess of 10 minutes (You are not allowed to use weapons for this challenge, just run like hell!)?

-Can you survive in Fort Baxter Airbase, on foot with only 20HP remaining for in excess of 15 minutes (You are allowed to use weapons for this challenge)?

Note: If you are struggling to get Tommy's health down to only 5, then I suggest you head over to the Boatyard, and keep falling off the jetty, but remaining close to the jetty. Tommy will begin to drown, then will pop back up onto the Jetty, and nine times out of ten, he will lose 5HP. Keep doing this to lower his health to the suitable level for the challenge.

I spent the first attempt hunting for checkpoints; turned out that I wasn't as familiar with the course as I thought I was.

In the second attempt I missed the a checkpoint on the ground headed straight for the the billboard. By the time I realised my folly, I had wasted several seconds.

Got it on my third trial, but I did loose control of the Raider at times, wasting a few seconds.

New challenges look even more interesting icon14.gif , I hope to give them a shot later.

The "can you survive with 5hp with a six star wanted level for an excess of ten minutes" challenge was tough, and I made- 3 minutes tounge2.gif . I decided to hide near the el swanko casa safehouse and crouched near the building, but when helis flew over I had to get more cover. I thought I found somewhere, but the army came in with a tank, I ran off, and befoe I knew it, I was dead.

I'll give it another go. I thought it was longer than 3 minutes but turns out it wasn't biggrin.gif

10 minutes feels like a silly amount of time to me, but it probably is possible if your 100 % dedicated LOL.

I tend to aim for the challenges to be as challenging as possible, and I believe 10 minutes is a difficult enough benchmark for everyone to aim for. Of course you can try and last for as long as possible, if you wished, though 10 minutes is going to be difficult to pass in the first place.

And just to clarify- You are not allowed to hide anywhere where it becomes impossible for the VCPD to get to you, you have to be out in the open, and entering any vehicle at any stage of your attempt will result in disqualification.

Bingo!

I was beginning to think that nobody would touch up on the challenge, and provide the oh-so-simple answer. Nice work again, mate! icon14.gif

I've only had time to attempt the RC Baron race with the radar and blips function disabled. Managed to crack it on my very first attempt, notching up a time of 2:17 in the process. I have taken pictures, but I'm a little tired to upload them onto the computer right at this moment. I'll get round to it as soon as possible.

The table shall be updated in due course.

Are you basically saying that you continuously rammed Mrs. Dawson's Comet until your Chopper was burning, then you quickly fled and the Chopper managed to land on the Comet, explode and in turn set the Comet on fire? If that is the case, then that is very impressive, especially if you succeeded with this at the first attempt. I can only assume the the Comet ceased from moving when the Chopper exploded, since if it didn't one would assume Mrs. Dawson would have drove away, far enough to avoid the impact of the explosion.

Great work, though. icon14.gif

noo the way i did was i rammed her from the top and when the heli started burning i went very fast and fleed and the heli landed just in front of the car and she was driving fast so the heli got burned when it was on the car so then the car caught fire biggrin.gif

it was my second try on the first try i did the same till black smoke came out (not the fire) and then fleed the heli hoping that when the heli lands it will hit the car or go in front of the car and then burst but it didnt it was there on the ground!! then i realised my foolishness that there was white smoke not black smoke and after that i was like i am such an a**

i had only 34 health left with me because of the impact of the fall then 2 car drove over me making my life to 0 points and killed me angry.gif

That's either remarkably lucky or remarkably skillful. Nevertheless, good going, you've completed a fair few challenges up to now, I can only appreciate the participation.

I've been having a go at the Complete checkpoint Charlie with a Sea Skimmer? challenge. Two word; Extremely. Stressful.

I immediately faced a challenge, before I even began the challenge! That was positioning the Skimmer beside one of the boats that triggers the mission. At first I positioned my plane so it was to the left of the Squallo, and I assumed that when I exited Tommy would be stood on top of the plane. I was wrong, and Tommy dived straight into the ocean and died. Not the best of starts. After retrieving my Skimmer once more, I then decided to position it to the right of the Cuban Jetmax, as I thought he would exit to the left. This time though, Tommy was stood on top of the plane when I exited (why couldn't he of done that previously?!). I then hopped into the Cuban Jetmax and triggered the mission.

After my first few attempts, where I failed miserably, I realised that I was never going to successfully complete this challenge if I didn't think about my method. I decided pretty early, that whilst collecting the checkpoints scattered around the rocks and dilapidated huts, that flying was going to be of no use, since the amount of chops and turns you have to make in such a short distance would be overkill for the plane. This meant that I collected the three checkpoints with my Skimmer on the water. For those of you that have flown the Skimmer before, you will realise that it handles and performs on water like a dogs undying love for a cat; pretty terrible! It feels like it takes an age to perform the simplest of directional changes, and doesn't move fast at all. Infact, I'd stick my neck out and say the Marquis moves across the water faster!

This didn't put me in good stead in regards to completing the challenge, but as soon as I collected the first five checkpoints, I managed to get airborne and turn the plane around without any hassle. Flying the plane so close to the water was difficult, as if you so much as touch the water, there's a large chance you'll end up plummeting back down into the sea, and therefore lose all momentum you once had. Thankfully this didn't happen for me on this attempt, as I handled the plane relatively well. Collecting the checkpoints located on top of the ramps made up for the time I'd lost collecting the first few checkpoints, ad when the plane's in the air, it obviously moves a lot faster than the Squallo or Cuban Jetmax can move on water.

I then hit another obstacle of sorts. I completely mis-cooked the checkpoint beneath the bridge leading to the West Island, and narrowly avoided landing on the ledge beside the checkpoint. This inadvertently forced me to plummet back down and collect the checkpoint on water, which wasted a few more seconds. Things got very tricky as I entered Washington Beach, and I had to collect the twelfth checkpoint underneath the bridge on water, as I didn't think my Skimmer would remain airborne, as well as maintain momentum as the gap beneath the bridge was so low. I managed to collect the next checkpoint, which was also underneath a bridge, whilst remaining airborne and maintaining my speed, which I definitely had to do if I was to succeed with this challenge attempt. I flew over the next bridge (as the checkpoint was a tad further back and it was seemingly impossible to fly underneath the bridge), and collected the next checkpoint.

The next checkpoint was also underneath a bridge, but I managed to fly straight through it, without hitting the bridge and maintaining my momentum. At this point I only had thirty seconds remaining, and although I collected the next two checkpoints in quick succession, I ran out of time after collecting the checkpoint underneath the footpath bridge in Leaf Links, as I was forced to collect it on water again. I ended up collecting a total of twenty checkpoints, which left me with six remaining. I think it's safe to say I was no where near passing this challenge! I'm going to keep plugging at it though, and no doubt improve my technique which might make this challenge possible for me to complete. I think the key is to remain airborne throughout. It's a tough ask, but I'm sure after many, many attempts, this will become a possibility.

Well anyway, I started a new game and within an hour completed 6 rampages. I did the one which you use the molotovs, the drive by rampage, the machete rampage and a few more I can't remember. I remembered about 5 locations, but found one near the north point mall and managed to quickly do that within 56 minutes (I timed myself) It isn't great, but I'm pretty pleased with myself.

Not a bad attempt at all, buddy! icon14.gif

Did you manage to complete the rampage which is located very near the Molotov Cocktail rampage? It's just on the beachfront, and you have to run over and kill 30 (I believe) gang members. It might be a good idea to first retrieve a Chopper to attempt this challenge, starting at the Lighthouse with the Molotov cocktail rampage. The rampage located on the beachfront can actually be completed in the Chopper, and you can slice up the gang members with the rotating blades. This not only makes the rampage easier to complete, but also substantially reduces the amount of time it would take to kill the required amount of gangsters.

With those two rampages complete, and with the much faster helicopter as well as a better understanding of the rampage locations, I'm sure you'll be able to beat your current best, which is respectable in itself.

Unfortunately not I'm afraid. The only map you are allowed to use is the one inside your brain. And I'm sure that the more times you attempt this challenge, the better your knowledge of each rampage location will be, thus giving you the impetus to increase your personal best. icon14.gif

Hey there! Welcome to GTAF! icon14.gif

I'm sorry to inform you, but a topic of this stature has already been done, and is still very much in full swing. Can you do it..?, an almost identical topic title to yours. In this topic I and other members have created a collaboration of custom challenges (with a total of 40 challenges, 14 of which are yet to be completed), where members of GTAF, including myself, attempt to complete them. For each one a member completes, providing they provide a detailed method of their challenge attempts, and it is remotely believeable, will be archived and added to the table in the first post. Check it out, it's great fun! And has a few challenges reminiscent to yours.

A few of your challenges don't make a whole lot of sense, though. Let me break it down a tad-

Can you get 100 taxi fares without being killed? or having your taxi flip over?

This challenge doesn't really make any sense, since it's not specific to detail. I have an ongoing challenge similar to this in my topic. The challenge in my topic is worded like this-

Can you complete all taxi fares in one sitting, without the use of Pay 'N' Spray?

Which basically means you have to complete all required taxi fares without leaving your vehicle, and in one complete sitting (100 in a row). Furthermore, I've not allowed the use of Pay 'N' Spray to make the challenge more... challenging!

Your next challenge..

Can you beat a record of flying 15 seconds in the sky without using a tank or a fast car?

This can't really be classed as a challenge, since it's extremely easy to fly in a plane/helicopter for well in excess of 15 seconds. It takes zero amount of effort to fly for as long s you wish in a Chopper, and, although a tad more difficult, it is relatively easy to fly the Sea Skimmer for a long period of time.

Next challenge...

Can you get in the military base without dieng or using cop suit?

This is very possible, and therefore would also not qualify as a challenge. Take a look at my challenge..

Can you survive in Fort Baxter Airbase, on foot with only 20HP remaining for in excess of 15 minutes (You are allowed to use weapons for this challenge)?

This makes for a decent challenge, because it's a hell of a lot more difficult to survive out in the open at Fort Baxter Airbase without bot maximum armour and health. The key is to make the challenges extremely difficult to pull off. Anybody will be able to complete your challenge with a stroke of luck.

This challenge is a tad barbaric..

Can you try to fite 500 people without dieng or without using hp or armor cheat? or weapons such as m16 gun ect.*

Although extremely optimistic, and I admit, very challenging, I don't think any gamer would be up for attempting and going through with this challenge, without the use of weapons. Another key factor with challenges is to make them constantly entertaining. This will become tedious after a short while and force a lot of gamers to retire half way through. Quite often the short and sweet challenges are the best and most entertaining. Perhaps something like, How many pedestrians can you kill in one minute, using only a knuckle duster as your weapon? would make for a decent challenge?

This challenge is a little bland..

Can you try to get all unique jumps without dieng using cheats or other cheat like?

Simply because it can be done with ease. A lot of gamers have completed Vice City without dying once. Unique Jumps don't exactly threaten your life unless you're attempting them on a bike, and are a little mediocre at completing jumps in the first place. I think a fun challenge would be something like; Can you complete 10 Unique Jumps on a PCJ-600 with only 5HP remaining, without dying? Meaning that one fall or crash would result in death and failure, and will make for a very difficult challenge.

This one is definitely not a challenge..

try killing the owner of the mansion without dieng?

You can't actually complete the mission Rub Out if you die. I'm not too sure if you mean playing through the game and then completing the mission without dying once, because if you were, that would make for a somewhat decent challenge. But if you meant completing only the mission Rub Out without dying, most members on GTAF who have played Vice City will have done this.

I'm not too sure what you mean by this particular challenge...

Can you try completeing all fire truck missions without dieng?

Do you mean, in one straight attempt? Sort of like my Paramedic challenge? If that is the case then I'll go ahead and add it to the table in my topic. icon14.gif

And finally this challenge...

can you complete all rampage missions without using cheats weps or glitches?

I have a challenge up which is of similar nature to this one. Here-

How many Rampages can you complete within one hour of starting a new game (Without using the Internet/cheat guides to find the locations)?

Feel free to give it a go if you wish and post up your method.

I'm going to go ahead and merge this topic to the original Can you do it...? topic, since this is of the same nature. Please, feel free to attempt some of the challenges in my topic, whether they have already been completed or not. And please, if you have any more challenges in mind, post them up! icon14.gif

[EDIT], added the three proposed challenges. Cheers for the unintentional contribution!

Top job, Hotwheels.

While both sets of missions prove challenging, I would consider them the easier of the list of challenges in this topic. In the past I have struggled immensely with both of these Emergency side missions, and can understand why many gamers to this day have trouble with the missions. Both are frustrating, and both require an ounce of skill as well as luck.

Table updated to this point.
