Any rls or have you decided to scrap it?

i think i will release 1.08 in a few days. 1.08 is such a big handling improvement, would be a shame to erase it from my hard drive. at least without champaign to celebrate the moment wink.gif

the encoding problem on youtube lasts 20 days already and youtube didnt fix anything. they dont even care.

would you mind to burn any YT admins you come across? thanks.

i am guessing this mod screws with your online play?

yes. but you can have both handling.dat files in the same folder and simply rename the one you are currently not using.

update on 1.08:

this version not only features a new bike handling (including realistic traction and deceleration) but also new handling for all cars.

since i cannot test drive all cars in RL biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif , i tried to get the handling as close as possible to GTR2 (some racing simulation).

of course there are some drawbacks since GTA physics are anything but top-notch and also because i play GTR2 with wheel and this mod is optimized for keyboard/gamepad.

i did my best to make brakes behave like in GTR2, of course braking with keyboard in GTA is quite different to braking with pedals... sneaky2.gif

furthermore, i gave all cars a realistic deceleration. the amount of deceleration can be found in the acceleration chart included.

and some night i spent 4 hours to give all cars a realistic e-brake, which makes drifting much easier.

1.08 is great, thats why i didnt delete it yet. but my hdd behaves strangely lately, like its gonna die every minute biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

You're a damn legend. I can't explain how much I love it. inlove.gif

It's not all that really! I promise it's just another handling mod. If you drive with a controller instead of a keyboard and mouse the handling in the game was fine the way it was. And I get sick and tired of people saying it now drives like it is supposed to when most handling mod makers don't even have a license and for example take the infernus (It is a make believe car) how do you know how it's supposed to handle.

I think the most important is, when you enjoy it, not how much realistic it is.

i can assure you i got a license. and i was trained for 8 hours by a driver who was world champion some years ago.

How do you find out what the Lamborghini Murcielago handles like? Its featured in several racing simulations (eg. GTR2) so its not that hard to get a rough picture of the handling.

ever hit the brakes in real life? GTA4 is not even close to realism, in GTA4 cars understeer instead of oversteer when decelerating.

if you dont like this mod, dont play it.

This Mod is Very good ! !

It is alot better than the previous version ! However ............The NRG 900 is way too Fast, although that seems realistic. thats 1 problem spotted, It can easily be fixed

Good Mod up there with the Best...... but imagine this mod withl custom engine sounds wow.gif

The NRG 900 is way too fast, although that seems realistic.

The 900cc bike is already 25% slower than in real life, i dont think there is a need to make it even slower.

In my opinion the main problem is that the driving skills of most players are messed up by the "lead foot" GTA4 default handling.

just take a look at statistics: on an average race track a 900cc bike drives only 6% of the time at full throttle.

so why would you drive through new york traffic at full throttle? just release the button when you have reached your desired speed. driving at 120 kph can be fun too, no need to go 240 kph, really.

btw, there is a reason mankind invented this thing called "brake", use it! biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

I only tried with the sanchez, but when I press and hold the E-brake and the back tire is completely still, I will still keep moving as if the wheel was accelerating. I'm not saying it's moving fast, but it's just bad that it moves at all when there should be NO acceleration from a completely still tire.

Killatomate
Does this still work with the third (newest) patch? Or we have to wait until this will be updated?

from what i've heard it should still work. but i would only patch GTA to 1.03 if you have technical issues or usually play a lot multiplayer.

never change a running system. biggrin.gif

never experienced that - can someone confirm?

It is true. Say you're going in 50 kph and then press and hold space while keeping W pushed, the back wheel will stop completely but the Sanchez will keep going at about 30-50 kph. As if it was still given force.
