mmm sorry.!!! blush.gif

From the cars I posted above I just tried the Reventon compared to the Audi R8 handling by killa.

The Reventon finished the frankford Ave in 33 s but Audi R8 finished in 28 s.

So I take back what I said...... The Reventon's handling by Rob.zombie is almost perfect too ... may be you two shouldwork together!!! biggrin.gif

Your handling line really rocks!!! icon14.gificon14.gif

  • 2 weeks later...

This 2.6 advanced handling (with keyboard) + high damage is one sweeeet handling mod.

I always think that the last build has been perfect, but Killatomate, you can improve things all the time! But this time it really is lifelike this way: I haven't played GTA for months now, but this one keeps me coming back from time to time. Thanks! smile.gif

turning the data of all 114 vehicles into charts like that would take about ... ... 3 years - lol

In my opinion, you should make the Infernus' handling more difficult, and the Super GT's handling easier.

If you ask me, I'd give the 911 oversteer characteristics, since it's RWD and rear engined. They always said that all the porsches are very likely to oversteer and they can't really "fix" this since the first 911. (not 9-11 lol)

BTW I thought the F430 does 0-100 Km/h in 3.8

And lol why does the infernus has it's steering wheel on the right? British import? biggrin.gif

Anyway cookie.gif for a fellow handling modder ^^

yes, porsche 911 will oversteer when driving slalom and staying on the gas. i will fix the stats.

there are different types of oversteer though.

user posted image

explanation/definition of the stats:

Acceleration:

the most important stat to many players. helps when you are in a hurry wink.gif

Top Speed:

the maximum theoretical speed of a car. cars with low top speed lack acceleration at higher speeds due to drag or have their speed capped by transmission limits.

Braking:

very important and underrated stat. slowing down is as important as accelerating. it's usually linked to traction, but there are exceptions.

Traction:

important stat for all kind of acceleration. accelerating, cornering and braking doesnt work without proper traction. obviously wink.gif

high traction helps to prevent wheel spin.

Handling:

This shows the difficulty level of the car. cars with good suspension, proper rear wheel traction and Front-Wheel-Drive score high.

Balance:

This is meant to show the car's behaviour in usual high speed turns. this kind of oversteer depends on front-rear traction ratio.

Drive:

FWD cars are easiest to handle but they tend to understeer. usually acceleration is limited by traction issues.

RWD cars are better at accelerating but are harder to handle and might spin out of control in turns.

4WD cars are best at accelerating (especially offroad) and are also quite easy to handle.

Anyway just a bit of suggestion I usually make my 4wd cars likely to get into 90° when you want to drift with it. So I made my cavalcade to understeer in corners, but if you pull the E-Brake than it'll go oversteer and get into 90°.

Anyway have you been able to remove the 288 Km/h speed limit? It kinda bugs me that I can't go faster with my cars sad.gif

good news! there will be another release.

i know that the gta community is dying and modding became kinda pointless recently but since the "advanced" handling introduced with version 2.6 is so popular i have decided to put some more effort into it.

as a matter of fact, 2.7 handling is already done. but there is still a lot of work to do, such as documentation and readme files, testing...

new features (only apply to the "advanced" handling):

Cars:

-improved tire properties (more realistic drifting)

-improved braking behaviour (less arcade drifting, more understeer)

-new: there is now a noise when cars understeer (driving feels way more realistic now)

Bikes (there are now bikes featured in the advanced handling!):

-Bikes!!!

-Burnouts

-more realistic tire properties

-Handbrake is back!

Helicopters (there are now helicopters featured in the advanced handling!):

-Helicopters!!!

-more realistic aerodynamics and thrust (climbing and descending is now more difficult)

-less agile helicopers, more inertia (much harder to turn or dodge objects now)

-reworked landing skids (helicopters will flip more easily)

Documentation:

-i will release some kind of vehicle statistics / vehicle guide , similar to the pictures above this posting.

-in addition to the car's base parameters (acceleration, top speed...) there will also be a "lap time" posted for every car, determined on a race track. the lap time is a good way to judge the general performance of a car.

some examples:

Infernus: 00:31.40

Turismo: 00:31.50

Coquette: 00:31.80

Comet: 00:32.10

Banshee: 00:32.70

SuperGT 00:32.90

the numbers are pretty close to the real cars, are they? wink.gif

now, everybody who wants me to make a video about 2.7 raise your hand... biggrin.gif

what? i dont see any hands... tounge.gif

Nice! What race track do you use in IV? biggrin.gif

I usually use the airport and steer around the runway, but nothing too serious.

there is another great track in the Alderney "Port Tudor" west river loading dock. moto_whistle.gif

should i release the vehicle guide as pdf or jpeg file? pdf is lower quality at higher file size but allows you to scroll though pages.

jpeg looks better but you cant scroll properly.

So, you edit so many things in the advanced handling line, but what about the normal handling, do you have any changes for that? smile.gif

PS: I dont think that GTA Community is dying, I havent been at GTAForums for a while, because my GPU is broken, and now im waiting my new GPU that i've ordered week ago... (Sorry my bad english)

I don't get it, why did you make the american cars handle very bad (I'm talking about sports cars like viper and z06) Even the american hater top gear admitted it's pretty fun to drive a Vette.

And the 911 doesn't tend to oversteer? RWD with rear engine is more likely to oversteer than a front engined rear wheel drive car. These are only my opinion smile.gif

Anyway yeah I'm using that track at the airport car park too, but I usually cut the part where the "main road" runs into the outside car park biggrin.gif

Anyway for defining high speeds, I suggest watching youtube videos. They helped me a lot. lol F430 accelerates like f*cking hell over 200 biggrin.gif

the "advanced" handling is now the normal handling. there is still the "basic" handling but its not as much fun wink.gif

2.7 changelog:

Changes to the "advanced" handling:

Cars:

all cars have been reworked:

-more realistic tire properties (more realistic sliding and drifting)

-improved braking behaviour (less arcade drifting, more understeer)

-new: there is now a "slipping tire" noise when cars understeer

-DF8 is now FWD car (Pontiac G6 GTP)

-Police2 (Chevrolet Impala) less likely to flip over

Bikes:

completely new handling for bikes:

-burnouts

-more realistic sliding

-you may use the handbrake again

Helicopters:

created more realistic handling version for flight simulator fanatics:

-more realistic thrust

-more realistic climbing and descending

-less agile behaviour (more inertia)

-increased turning radius

-reworked landing skids and center of mass (helicopters will flip more easily)

Changes to the "basic" handling:

-some traction and sliding adjustments

-some helicopter handling improvements

-Police2 (Chevrolet Impala) less likely to flip over

why did you make the american cars handle very bad (I'm talking about sports cars like viper and z06) Even the american hater top gear admitted it's pretty fun to drive a Vette.

the Z06 handling is "difficult". i never said it would handle bad or wasnt fun to drive. oversteer is not a bad thing either (if you know how to use it).

just look at the lap times, they tell you how well a car performs.
