Please post more than just the title.

We don't need a War and Peace essay on the film, but at least give a couple of sentences of good and bad points and even throw in a rating if you want to, as long as you give some rationale.

San Andreas - Fast pace, action pack thriller!

Tbh, any movie The Rock is in is always exciting to watch. :)

I'm a sucker for disaster movies and San Andreas was pretty awesome. One of the better ones.

Have you seen Into the Storm?

Very good, I mean, for a disaster movie.

Right, so I watched Into the Storm, and I hated every second of it. It was really bad, almost like those bad made for tv movies, but not quite.

A lot of things wrong with this movie, like the boring characters and bad acting for example.

Or the airport scene. Why does such a small town have such a huge airport? Must be a very important place.

And what about the cameraman that disappears when they try to save the two drowning teens, only to reappear in the armored vehicle afterwards when he's not needed anymore. Talking about the same cameraman that doesn't really say or do anything throughout the entire movie.

Or the other cameraman who's too afraid of getting killed by the tornadoes, but then goes to stand right next to a firenado to film it. As if he couldn't get a better shot from a safer distance.

Terrible movie. Scratch you lied!

Saw Carlito's Way for like the 500th time, can't get enough of John Leguizamo as Benny Blanco from the Bronx

Just watched Ex Machina last night. A little slow, but it was good. And that 14A rating it has on Netflix is a lie, haha.

Pound of Flesh

Starring Jean Claude Van Damme

From IMDB:

A man's heroic attempt to help a woman in distress ends up with him waking up the next day without a kidney and plotting his revenge.

From my early teens I was a massive Van Damme fan. I watched Bloodsport at least a few times a week at the peak of my fandom. As a movie star he's been on a decline ever since failing to capitalise on the success of Time Cop. There's been some iffy films since then but Pound of Flesh is a new low. It's bad in every respect. There's a few things that stand out as particularly bad though. The first is the bizarre use of green screen. The first noticeable example is during a scene in a bar where Van Damme fights several goons. The fight seems to take place at the actual location but then there's a shot of Van Damme looking down at the felled goons with the bar in the background. Van Damme was actually superimposed into the shot and it looks very obvious and silly. This happens throughout the film.

Almost every scene in a car, including the car chase, are filmed in front of a green screen with the outside scrolling past as in an old film. Some of the sets are cobbled together with little care. One scene that's supposed to take place in a busy underground fight club is just in an empty warehouse with a handful of gormless onlookers. To make it seem bigger and busier they have Van Damme walk round in a circle a few times.

The coup de grace though has to be the stunt double. The big final set piece is almost entirely done with a stunt double even though there's nothing physically demanding happening. They use night vision goggles to try and hide his face. It's so obvious that me and my friend thought it was a new character. We were like "wait who the hell is this guy." One scene has the stunt double (no attempt to disguise him now) just standing looking at something on a wall. It's bizarre. Like Van Damme couldn't be bothered to show up that day.

I think the budget for Pound of Flesh may have been $1. It's terrible but almost worth it to see how bad it really is. Nothing can take away the awesome films Van Damme starred in during his prime though. He had a better run that all but a few of the 80s/90s action stars.

Not A Nice Person

Jennifer's Body is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, if not the worst.

Algonquin Assassin

A Christmas Horror Story. A little cheesy, but still can't complain for 90 minutes of entertainment.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles is pretty good. Not a classic like many would consider IMO, but I'd definitely recommend you to check it out.

Non Stop

From the trailers I thought it may have been a standard plane hijack type film, but I was pleasantly surprised, it was a quite a suspenseful film and actually turned into a whodunnit film which was well executed. The casting was great and plays up nicely to stereotypes that have you guessing who done it, like a smarmy guy, the big ugly guy, the token Arab guy on a plane, then butter wouldn't melt in her mouth female characters, but really they could be the ones.

Granted within the type of film it is there was some standard plot points which may be verging on cliche, but as with whodunnit films there is only so many plot points available and as the whodunnit film has been done so often it's hard to find something fresh. None the less, how they did it was well done and didn't rely on making it too obvious to the viewer that they were doing it, so subtlety won out.

Would I recommend? yes I would, a nice solid 8/10

^ I seen it though it was good.

Last movie I've seen was the Condemned 2; Overall decent watch nonstop action, I highly recommend it.

Last watched The Rocketeer. Really good film, especially with the whole Art Deco theme they had going on. Solid action, and a good villain death scene.
