Vanilla Shake 1,422
So, anyone listen to the songs that were released on the radio today? Hell yeah, I'm downloading them. I f*cking love Before The Lobotomy and East Jesus Nowhere. Apparently Warner gave fansites the okay to post MP3s up (not just of the songs, but of the entire hour long interview with the band that accompanied the songs). So if you want to hear new songs, fly fly, before they're taken down (*cough*SaintJimmy*cough*). Still waiting on Restless Heart Syndrome and American Eulogy to download. The album version of 21st Century Breakdown is significantly different from the demo that was leaked. Edit: East Jesus Nowhere Edited May 6, 2009 by Vanilla Shake

Vanilla Shake 1,422
I've been listening to it on repeat on my iPod for a little while, and so far I'm loving it. It's similar to American Idiot, but it's 100 times better.

SaintJimmy 160
Finally got my KYE single in today. As soon as I got it I had to head out to a party though, and only just got back. Been listening to it for a while now. Lights Out and Hearts Collide are a fine choice of B-sides!
Vanilla Shake 1,422
Lights Out and Hearts Collide are a fine choice of B-sides! Hell yeah they are. I can't wait to hear more b-sides when the next singles drop. And the three supporting acts have been confirmed. The Bravery, from July 3rd to July 25th The Kaiser Chiefs, from July 27th to August 7th Franz Ferdinand, from August 8th to August 25th I'd be seeing the Kaiser Chiefs, since the concert I'm (hopefully) going to will be their first night opening for Green Day (July 27th in New York). I'd prefer The Bravery, but I dig the Kaiser Chiefs as well, so that's like seeing two bands I like for the price of one. Sweet deal. And Target will be selling a special edition of the album that will have 6 unreleased bonus live songs recorded in Japan (I'm presuming from the American Idiot tour), for 13 bucks. I'll be getting that one.

SaintJimmy 160
Got my copy pre-ordered - as soon as school is done on Friday, I'm bussing it straight from school to the shops to pick up my copy and listen the f*ck out of that album.
Vanilla Shake 1,422
why cant they get punk bands!!! Maybe because having some indie bands open for them will add variety to the show. It's way better than getting f*cking My Chemical Romance, AFI, or Fall Out Boy to open for them.
4thosebout2rock 1
I really feel like this album is more like the old Green Day which is perfect, though its still not what i wanted. Still i enjoy it.
Rhoda 6,978
Just got through listening to this album, and my initial thought is that it's very very good, and even after the first listen I think it's better than American Idiot was. Some may say that's not very hard to do in the first place. I find 21st Century Breakdown to be a very polished offering, and despite it being in a complete different direction than I anticipated, I'm still very much a fan. Favourite track on the album has got to be American Eulogy so far. 18 tracks too, you're spoiling us Green Day.
SaintJimmy 160
I've listened to the KYE single over 100 times now, and that leak of 21st Century Breakdown as well. I can't bloody wait for Friday.
ToyMachine 1
I've been listening to it on repeat on my iPod for a little while, and so far I'm loving it. It's similar to American Idiot, but it's 100 times better. Well they couldn't go nowhere but up.
SaintJimmy 160
Okay, I gave in and decided to listen to ONE SONG. And it was American Eulogy - sounds incredibily similar to Deadbeat Holiday!

I must be the only one that doesn't see that similarity. Although it does seem a lot of the songs on the album combined some old sh*t with their new style.

Vanilla Shake 1,422
What a pleasant f*cking surprise. My iTunes pre-order is downloading early. It isn't even the 15th here yet. Nice. Now I just got to get my physical copy and tickets tomorrow. Edit: Their cover of "Like a Rolling Stone" kicks some major ass! Edited May 15, 2009 by Vanilla Shake
SaintJimmy 160
Scored my copy from the store - I love it. Nice work VS, I can't wait to hear some more B-sides from them!
Vanilla Shake 1,422
Booyah! Also, their cover of "A Quick One While He's Away" is epic. Would make The Who proud.

Rhoda 6,978
Got a major nostalgia ride from this album I must admit. I'm not a massive fan of Green Day but this has far surpassed all expectations I had, which were minimal if I'm honest. I've not got the bonus tracks you all got from iTunes/special edition purchases, I've just got the 18 track standard issue but that's just enough for me. I do have an issue with the length though, I feel it's just a little too long in places; granted, it's intended to be an epic album and the concept of it all would be lost and broken if a few tracks were omitted but still, I wouldn't have been disappointed with something 3 or 4 tracks less, making 21st Century Breakdown just under an hour in length. Is it just me do you think, or does anyone else get me?

Omnia sunt Communia 125
I heard some of Know Your Enemy, and too be honest, it sounded no different to half the songs off of American Idiot. The subject matter may have changed (slightly) though the music still sounds the same. The same old, tired, wannabe punk rock.
