floof
So a few months ago I was able to play the game just fine. I got a virus, didn't want to pay to fix my PC so I just re-installed Windows. Everything is pretty much the same now but I can't play GTA SA. Here are some pictures of the error message: #1: #2: #3: No, I don't have mods active and I did re-install the game. This message comes up after I try to run GTA.

Girish
If you copied the User Files folder from your previous installation, you need to delete the gta_sa.set file in there.
floof
If you copied the User Files folder from your previous installation, you need to delete the gta_sa.set file in there. Deleted it but I still get the message . @Dice: I'm on XP, theirs no option the make it compatible with what I am already on. Edit: This time it say the error is C:\DOCUME~1\Cam\LOCALS~1\Temp\9b34_appcompat.txt The problem is always a .txt file but a different one each time. floof
Are you using a no-cd crack?Tried reinstalling the game? No I use the cd. I have tried re-installing. Try Winodws 98 Compatilibilty Mode. That didn't work for me. I don't understand why it would either. You can skip this problem for now. I'm guessing I am missing something that runs stuff like SA. Vinnie
If you've just reloaded Windows have you applied all critical updates & service packs. And also updated your video card drivers?
dice
If you've just reloaded Windows have you applied all critical updates & service packs. And also updated your video card drivers? Yes, I once got a same appcompat.txt error for SA, because the game did not find my sound card (no drivers). You can also read the file for any clues

Yes, I once got a same appcompat.txt error for SA, because the game did not find my sound card (no drivers). You can also read the file for any clues I had some problems when I first re-installed (driver probs). My sound didn't work and my scrolling was choppy, I downloaded some sh*t, changed some sh*t and it was fine. I gonna go delete some of those text files and some stupid file called "System32" which is causing me a sh*t load of problems.
