Safe_Badger
Your xbox not the game, if it's happened twice now. Try running other games?
OverTheBelow
lol, he called GTAIV '1V'. Anyway, I don't think it is normal for the game to be getting those defects. Perhaps you should check if other games are working slower than intended and assess whether it might be your 360 that is the problem.
no1fanofdaniel
All the other games play ok, I just bought Fable 2 ... no problems with that Is it usual to get such long loading times. plus should the game pause when driving? I also notice when loading it is just a blank screen , no pictures like the older games ,,,,,, three cheers for the first 3 games they are much better

Try to update your game, and test then if it works. It may help, 'cause it helped for me bit, but not completely.

All other games and DVDs work. What can I do? I have a XBox 360. I already tried 3 brand new copies of GTA 4 in my XBox 360 but it won't play them. I get one of two error messages: -Unreadable Disc (in the XBox menu) -To play this disc, insert it into an Xbox 360 console. My other games play - Burnout Paradise, Halo3, Orange Box, GRAW and Bully all work fine. I called XBox Live support and they said to try the game on a friend's system to see if it will work. 10 months ago Additional Details XBox support called me back a few times today after my initial call into their service. Everyone - Thanks for your responses. I'm looking for positive, technical solutions for getting this game to run on my 360. Buying a new system and stealing parts are not viable options for me. I'd rather wait a few months for a good solution than spend hundreds on a new PS3 or Xbox 360. 10 months ago XBox Support told me that they will not repair my system because the problem only happens with one game and not all of them. They told me to give Rockstar Games a call to work this out. The buzz on Internet forums is that older XBox 360 systems won't play the game. Older DVD players have trouble with this disc. Too bad MS isn't stepping up to repair their substandard hardware. I'll live without GTA-IV. Too bad... maybe I'll save up for a PS3. Thanks Microsoft. You are the best at keeping customers happy. 9 month

The Gta iv is the only game I have had problems with, I have had many games consoles PS1 PS2, original X Box, Gamecube. and played many games, I reckon the older consoles had less problems and would play anything. I reckon the older games are better, its not all about realistic gameplay and graphics its the gameplay thats most important.

GTA3Freak-2001
I'd see about getting a new disc, does the disc look scratched or anything?
no1fanofdaniel
I'd see about getting a new disc, does the disc look scratched or anything? The disc is mint not one single scratch. The game isn't loading properly. before I get a message cannot read disc, the scenery disappears. Its as though my 360 cant handle the game. My 360 is the orginal one, bought over 3 years ago. GTA_dog
I smell Red Ring... which is weird because the RRoD doesn't have a smell.
DavidGC
I smell Red Ring... which is weird because the RRoD doesn't have a smell. Yes it does. It smells like cooking plastic. @OP: Your Xbox is royally f*cked up the ass. Good luck getting MS to fix it for free. Looks like it's either a) get a new xbox/ps3 or b) kill yourself. Typos by young 'adults' around here, and even olde tymers like myself are nuthin' new. Some people even TRY to make up new text... I believe they refer to that as "L33t" I have problems too, kid, join the club. It's not all roses with GTA 4 and next generation, but don't give up, it's worth it in the end, you'll be Jonzin' for too long once you delve into it...and then go without!!
