ErnieF89
Hey guy's I wan't to now (If you know), what's the best config (to GTA IV) to my system. My system is: Intel Core 2 Dou E4500 2.23Ghz 5 GB Ram 667 Mhz Ati HD4870 OC Edition 512 GDDR5 Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit
anus
I'd say medium settings, but only because of that processor. That card should be able to max out IV. Overclock your processor to 3GHz or more and you'll be able to max out the game.
ErnieF89
Thx But i just don't now if my motherboard can overclock CPU. My motherboard is Asus P5K Pro.
anus
Dude, you have an awesome motherboard with the awesome P35 chipset. You'll be able to overclock REALLY well with such a good board .
ErnieF89
Nice Is there any guide or something like that wich shows how to overclock CPU? (With that motherboard) I have tried once before but i gave up..
FakeJ66
Nice Is there any guide or something like that wich shows how to overclock CPU? (With that motherboard) I have tried once before but i gave up.. you have to find a menu named "Frequency/Voltage Control" somewhere in your bios. there you should be able to overclock it

Overclock your processor to 3GHz or more and you'll be able to max out the game. Have you only played GTA4 for like a couple of days or something? Pinky has an amazing cpu build and he can only play at medium settings with 50-60fps. Sure this guy can max out his settings with those specs if he wants 5fps. chngdman
1280x720, auto config, then back off the CPU relevant settings. That will be your best settings. And do post back whether this was helpful or not, I would like to know how it works out.

anus
LOL LOL, everyone's GTA works the same right? LOL LOL! LOL LOL, he has a 8800GT too right? LOL LOL! That card is way better than yours, so he will get more FPS than you. Get your facts straight and stop being a smartass.
emcax24
way better than whos? mine? a.) thats not my benchmark thats from the internet. b.) i have a 4850 which in case you didnt know is the same as a 4870 with the only difference being the ram on the 50 is gddr3 and the ram on the 70 is gddr5. i think the default clock on the gpu for the 70 is a little higher. i gotta check. at any rate your "way better" statement is a bit of an overstatement. 48070 is like 15% faster than a 4850 stock. so please spare me your sh*t. maybe you should stop being a smartass considering you dont know wtf youre talking about. anus
Mention that in your posts, don't assume that we know everything about your system. How are we to know you don't have a 8800GT if you post a bench which uses a 8800GT?

anus
No, that doesn't say that you don't have a 8800GT, it only says that you have an E4500. I am NOT a fanboy, I myself get bad performance and agree that R* f*cked up.

anus
For the last time, IV is different for different people! Haven't you noticed it? Some people who have high end PCs get the same FPS as people with lower end PCs. Oh and there are people who're able to run IV with high if not maxed out settings with a 4850 and a dual core processor similar to the OP's.
