LiquidR1
The trailer for DR2 looks sick. How's the ninja pack? I missed the pre-order from Gamestop where the ninja DLC was included. Has anyone gotten the game with ninja pack online elsewhere? I looked but it seems that DLC was only offered by GS for pre-orders? Is this game worth buying? deathdealer
Man, I love the bowie knife+boxing glove combo, It really helps in defeating most of the psychos easily. well, I've beaten the game last night after dying three times against the final boss. Not a bad ending but the credits music could be better.
meta187
The trailer for DR2 looks sick. How's the ninja pack? The ninja pack works suprisingly well. Like seriously, I assumed the difference between wearing it and not wearing it would seem minimal but you practically have to bump into zombies directly to get their attention. I did a few test runs back and forth changing clothes and the difference is noticable. Almost feels like cheating but they will still go for you on occasion. I'm on my 1st pass the military is about to arrive, I've killed all the psychos I believe and rescued all the people who came up on my watch from the beginning but the chick tells me I still have a few hours to kill to rescue some more people, so I try and look up if I missed anyone and I realize like the first one, you don't get signaled on everyone and I've missed a lot of hidden people at this point who it's too late to go back for. I'd be pissed but it's only my first pass and I'm already at level 33. One thing I have been having a hardtime finding is a decent guide on where and when to pick up the survivors sequentially. I'm not ashamed to say I used one for the first game and it worked our rather well. *Also I found out that they are going to be bringing photography back in with the next round of DLC, so that's cool. I know I said I was hoping it would be cut from the game but if we get Frank back it'll be worth it. mrpain
@badboy_zay: I too have trouble killing the chef. Want to know how I killed him? Well I basically did f*cking nothing! Go save the Rock Heroes, give them machine guns each and let them stand at the store where you meet the chef. You can just stand there and laughed your ass off as the chef gets brutally murdered by bullets. @Conal123: Once you kill fat Ted, there should be some steak where you meet them. Get that steak and keep on feeding it to Snowflake by putting the steak on the ground. After Snowflake eats three steaks, he's yours! You can even give it to your daughter as a gift! I love this f*cking game! So much improvements from the first game. I've managed to stay spoiler free until now except some douche just told me one of the key characters is going to die. Currently at Case 4-1, the threesome with the Twins is damn hard!

If you have a survivor with you, give the gun to him/her to help you out on the chef. Anyone else find it just so awesome to cruise around The Strip on the motorbike? meta187
When fighting that chef the best time to hit him is when he's eating. Also there a large pile of food and wine by the entrance to the restaurant sitting on some picnic tables on the right side if you need to heal. *I just found out you can heat up a frying pan on a burner and press it to a zombie's face pretty cool secret attack. Axe + Sledgehammer = The Ultimate Psycho Killing Weapon Really? I always seemed to get knocked on my ass when I try to use it because of the slow swing. I've found quick slash weapons like the Boxing Gloves + Bowie knife to be a little more effective against the quicker moving psychos. I'm still looking for a decent Survivor rescue order guide if anyone knows of one. Best thing I've found thus far is this kind of bare bones list, it's a bit crap on descriptions though. http://www.msxbox-world.com/features/Dead-...2/survivors.php Edited October 3, 2010 by meta187 ~ Studio: Q-13 Lounge / Q:13 Warrior Tunes / Interweb Chex Mix, yo.~

meta187
I could still use a decent Survivor list walkthrough. Three funny things: 1. The purple San Andreas style double ender referred to as a "massager". I love handing them to survivors. 2. For those who don't know, you can heat up frying pans on stovetops and burn them on the faces of zombies by holding down the attack button. 3. On one random occasion when I walked by LaShawndra Dawkins she said, "Not bad for a white boy", got a genuine chuckle out of me. ~ Studio: Q-13 Lounge / Q:13 Warrior Tunes / Interweb Chex Mix, yo.~

mrpain
2. For those who don't know, you can heat up frying pans on stovetops and burn them on the faces of zombies by holding down the attack button. That was in the first game actually, and yeah it's pretty funny! @Maleficus: WTF?!? How the hell did you find time to find all those gifts? And where is that bear with horns thing? Also, that lightsaber has gotta be one of the coolest weapons in the game. @kudoboi: You're living in the same f*cking country as me, if I can find it so will you. I love how the survivors AI has greatly improved from the first game. They've already helped me kill three psychos wiithout me even touching them! Just wrapped up Case 4, it would have been nice to know that I didnt need to kill both of the twins. I felt like they've wasted alot of space and time for Day 2, oh well at least it gave me time to kill those damn snipers. Rebecca has some nice interesting camera angles. EDIT: My new awesome avatar and signature claims this page!
gamesguru
meta, you said you was looking for a decent survivor guide? Well I don't think I recall seeing many (if any) guides being posted here yet. I started using a few for my second play-through, mainly for survivors and objectives that can only be accomplished at certain points in the game. For anyone interested, here is some really in depth and helpful guides (apologies if already posted): ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Achievment Guide Including Videos Date Miner Achievement/Survivor + Notebook Guide Dead Rising 2 Tips & Tricks Pshycopath Guide ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This game is great fun, especially in co-op. It's the little weird and quirky things that really bring enjoyment and humour to the game. I spent a good 2mins laughing at my friend running up to a shotgun wielding postman just to squirt mayonnaise in his face. It was comedic perfection. Although I was slightly frustrated with the game yesterday because of co-op. I started my second run through and just finished the first Case file, including all the survivors and other things besides. I went into a friend's game to help him with some achievements (in return we are running through the whole campaign in co-op). We was aiming to spray all Zombrex posters. I remember reading that you can let Katey die and carry on the story. What I didn't know is that doing that made the game end at the military arrival. We had only 2 posters left which was frustrating, but understandable. I told my friend he'd have to do it in his own time. What was really annoying however, was that I saved my game to keep my experience and money. Now usually when saving in co-op when in another person's game, it doesn't save story progression, the game even tells you that beforehand. What it doesn' tell is that when you finish the actual story and then save it, it makes a ridiculous exception and saves the ending. I even looked in the manual to understand how the co-operative save system worked, but there is little to nothing in the manual about co-operative gameplay, excluding how to join/start a game. So I had to do the whole first Case again. Just a warning for you guys out there. Don't make the same mistake I did.
mrpain
Hah good thing I'm going solo through my game. Glad to see the developers still have their Japanese humour in them. Finding the survivor Europa was just so random and funny! Grrr exams are coming up and taking my time away from zombie killing. Meh, might as well do my top 5 favourite moments yet: 1. Battle with Leon the biker dude, love his death. 2. Combining flashlight and gems. Laughed my ass off at the end result. 3. Battle with Slappy, he's one scary mascot. Flamethrower FTW! 4. Katey moments, she's so cute! 5. Meeting Rebecca, seriously she really is the female version of Frank West! I'm still early in the game though, gonna kickass through it later. Menaced
Got this game yesterday, I haven't played much of it. So far it seems to be a decent game, my only gripe so far is the damn loading. So far it's been: *Loading* *Cutscene plays* *Loading* "Finally some gameplay" *Another cutscene plays* *Loading* *Cutscene plays* *Loading* *Gameplay. 5 minutes of gameplay until another cutscene, followed by a barrage of load screens*
