THE DEAD WALK AGAIN AS CAPCOM CONFIRMS DEAD RISINGTM 2

Sequel to 1.5 million-plus seller announced for multiple gaming platforms

London – February 9, 2009 - Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Dead Rising™ 2 is in development for three different gaming platforms: the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment’s PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) and the PC. The sequel to the 1.5 million-plus selling Dead Rising™, Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies, the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City to explore and conquer plus a host of new in-game objects that can all be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.

Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with up and coming Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom’s global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game’s Producer will play an active role in the project.

Released in 2006, Dead Rising won praise across the globe for its mix of intense zombie action and dark humour, garnering numerous awards including IGN’s “Most Innovative Design for Xbox 360”, Gamespot’s “Best Action-Adventure Game” for 2006 and “Action Game of the Year” at the 2006 Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Further details concerning the story and gameplay of Dead Rising 2 will be made available shortly.

I think i might have to buy a 360 again for this. Probably the game I most enjoyed, best played when stoned....

...So, zombies in Vegas? Gnarly.

I hope the main character gets a new look though. He looks pretty lame.

F*CK YEAH! Now I really need all DR's achievements.

I think that the Vegas-esque setting will be awesome, specially if you can kill'em with the cards lol.gif

Wickity-What? Frank was a man's man. This guy, well, he's blonde for one. And two, he has no camera. And he's blonde.

The camera actually really annoyed me in the first game. It seemed so...restrictive.

Looking forward to this a great deal, though. I think it's maybe a game that I'd like to see feature a custom character option.

Yeah he looks pretty damn generic. I just saw the trailer for this today and it's really well done. Leaves a lot to

the imagination while also giving you a glimpse of things to come. I just hope they make some text that I can actually

read without a magnifying glass dammit. angry.gif

First of all, for the love of god can you please resize that picture? Its one hell of a page stretch. But secondly, I can't wait for this. I finally got around to playing DR1 and I'm still trying to complete it now since I've given it a break, but its something I could spend hours on. Although those Otis calls are a pain in the ass more than anything.

I do wish for some sort of online co op, you could have a friend play as as another surviour which would be awesome. Also atleast there isn't a camera this time, which will also be a step forward to a decent control scheme. (Hopefully)

Omnia sunt Communia

I was just thinking to myself earlier: "How can life get any better?" Then I came online and found this!

Thank you Capcom. Thank you for making this available on PS3! Dead Rising was almost enough to make me buy an X-Box 360; but now that we've got this game on the horizon, I think I can hold-on to my hard earned cash a little longer.

I'm not too sure about the setting. Fortune City? Isn't that an free web hosting site? Capcom might end up getting sued if they're not careful. lol.gif

I'm guessing Fortune City will be a massive 'super casino' then? I can't see it being as interesting as the mall in Dead Rising, but I guess we can't just have another mall, can we? I would of preferred somewhere a bit more... open, though.

The idea of an casino sounds very constricting to me. I mean once you've explored the casino floor, the offices, the hotel suites, what else is there to explore?

Digital Murders

The whole concept of both games are great. But it was impossible to read anything in the first game. I played it for about 10 minutes and I had no idea what the hell I was supposed to do because everything was unreadable. So, needless to say, I took the game back because straining my eyes wasn't worth playing the game.

If a demo is going to be released and the text is big enough as to not having to slam my face to the TV to read it, then I'll probably get this.

Not to sound like a cock but what size is your TV.

On my 37 I could read it fine.

Unfortunately, well not really. You are being a cock my advice to you is to stop being that way. It doesn't matter who's got what size because most people can't afford a huge TV. So a lot of people had a hard time reading the text.

A 37" is still a pretty nice piece of kit, no matter where it is. The game was created to be played on large screen, HD TV's. The problem is, not everyone had one of those. I really hope they fix that problem when the sequel comes about.
