It includes a code for redemption of the download on the 17th and a poster. Post your experiences here: Did your local Gamestop get it? Did the clueless Gamestop employees sell it to you today or did they try to tell you it's not available to the 17th? (or on the other hand: were they dumb enough to tell you it the download is available today?) If you got it, is it a 1600 card with a GTAIV logo on it or is it actually a unique code specifically for "The Lost and Damned" only? Are there any issues re: shipping? For example, is it shipping today but not available in stores until tomorrow? They are a sh*tty store with sh*tty executives who don't understand games. Just wait until the 17th and just spend 1600 MS points, your better off. If it's the same price or close enough (if there's any price difference it will just be sales tax) and if I can get it before the game launches it's worth it. If they tell me I can't get it until 10am on February 17th that would mean I would have to wait 9 hours for the mall to open and I'm not willing to do that but if I can get the card and poster any time between today and that night then it's worth it. GuruAskew Posted February 9, 2009 Author Share Posted February 9, 2009 Someone on the Gamespot forums said the code will enable you to download the game as soon as you get the card but it won't be "unlocked" and available to play until the 17th, like they would put out a title update that actually makes it available to play on the 17th but the files would actually be on your hard drive right away. Now, on one hand this is, as I said above, just someone on the Gamespot forums. He doesn't list a source or even say he has the card yet. It could very easily be speculation/wishful thinking. On the other hand this would actually make sense if Microsoft was trying to alleviate server loads. Imagine if everyone could download it at different times between now and the 17th and Microsoft could essentially just flip a switch and grant us access to the content at midnight instead of having everyone download a large file simultaneously. I preordered with Game on the net but had to cancel when they sent me an e-mail saying they weren`t allowed to ship orders before their release date which is the 17th, pfft. They knew the cards had shipped and would likely be ready in a day or two and knew the game still wouldn't be available to download/play until the 17th. I asked them if they had the guide to preorder and they said no, though they did have the "Chinatown Wars" one available for reservation. I think I'll just get the "Lost and Damned" one from Amazon. After getting an e-mail saying they couldn`t ship titles til their release date which was the 17th,I sent a furious e-mail to Game telling them Amazon was shipping it on the 13th. The next day (Sunday, yesterday) they`d changed their release date to the 13th on the website. So I went into Manchester today and they`d updated their info, I booked it and I pick it up on Friday morning. Go back and try again or check the website, let us know how you got on. I guess that answers that question. Not that I ever thought you'd be able to download it today anyway. But yeah, the stores should be getting them. When i was to gamestop two days ago and asked about it, he didn't seem to know what i was talking about, but he did have the article number for "TLAD special microsoft points" or something like that. And i told him that i perhaps would buy it. I suppose i'll go to gamestop thursday, friday or monday to see if they have it. If not, i'll just buy normal points. But i so want the map and the box. I don't really like the dlc-thing. I will have no confirmation that i bought it. I'll probably be too lazy to post pictures and I imagine someone on the internet will between now and then. If I am compelled to post "proof" pictures they'll probably be pretty crappy.
