ayushisrocking
STOCKHOLM: Suresh Joachim has broken his own Guinness world record for non-stop broadcast-television watching, clocking 72 hours in the Swedish capital. "I feel fine, I drank between 25 and 30 cups of coffee,'' Joachim said on Sunday. His previous record was 69 hours, 48 minutes, set in 2005. Joachim, a Sri Lanka native who lives in Toronto, watched three seasons of the drama series "24'' featuring Kiefer Sutherland, said Swedish TV4 spokeswoman Janina Witkowski. WOW, imagine his eyesight.. EDIT: I would have enjoyed the Friends TV show by then Edited February 9, 2009 by ayushisrocking
Rhoda
If you have enough time to watch TV for 72 hours you really need to rethink your life. Saying that, I could beat this bitch hands down, just give me the entire Lost boxset, I'll happily challenge him.

It would have to be Oz for me, but even at 48 episodes at an hour each it wouldnt make it.
Rhoda
It's pretty hardcore, seeing as there's 4 seasons released of Lost, with about 13/14 episodes in each, so I'd have to crack into a Bob Monkhouse collection DVD or something to break the ice. Was he allowed to leave to make the coffee or did some poor bugger have to stay up to make it him?

asimov
72 hours? That's not really that much considering it's a world record. I'm sure I could do that if I had the spare time.
Trows
You wouldn't think it hard, but staying awake for 72 hours while staying stationary? That sounds pretty bloody hard to me. No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.
Drag_Drift
Bah. Just provide me the whole 4 seasons of PrisonBreak and I'll beat this.
GTA3Rockstar
Lost as in the TV show. i was just joking.. Haha no you weren't, you just felt dumb now. Damn, the most I probably watched in one sitting is like 4 hours or something.
DeeperRed
I have only managed to stay awake for 48 hours straight before collasping. 72 hours might sound easy but its not, at all. By the 30th hour I was hullicanating. I was playing a range of games and watching a range of movies at the time and everyhing became more.. real. It was like being on Skunk. The key is to keep the majority of you sense motivated as much of you can since it requires the brain to work. So eating a range of food and having cold showers is a good think to do

Dingdongs
Gimme some Track & Field footage and I'd brake that record easily. Lost is the gayest show in the world. 24 is the type of show you can watch on DVD for days straight.

HolyGrenadeFrenzy
I've know a few people that have outdone him but the trouble is that they do things like that on a regular basis. Ywr they can't be bothered to leave the TV for long enough to set up equipment for recording/broadcasting evidence or even contact the records people at Guinness when doing things like such as this,......sad../..pathetic, really. ryuclan
Is this really an accomplishment? I could have done better then that back in the day when I was a kid. Now the guy who gave the 48 hour speech, thats a damn accomplishment. Also he watched 3 seasons of 24? When did they broadcast all of them like that? If he had the dvd box set then I declare shenanigans. The best I've ever done was watch the Godfather trilogy twice in a row. It was that damn good....and I borrowed it haha. OH NO
Gimme some Track & Field footage and I'd brake that record easily. Lost is the gayest show in the world. Nice to be able to just randomly agree with someone on that. Never understood the appeal of that show..just seems like a load of bullsh*t made up on the fly (which it is, apparently.) As for this tv guy...wouldnt someone have to be with him to witness the event , and therefore they too also broke the record? Or were they watching him watch tv? I dont really care to be honest, just wanted to agree that Lost is gay. Scientifically gay.

Their stuck on an Island for 7 seasons, how the writers squeazed a story out of that subject for 7 seasons just baffles me.

Creed Bratton
Give me some good porn with Latina chicks and I'll stay awake for 100 hours. Or just give me LOST...including the entire 5th season @ Irviding - You're an idiot. Go die
Rhoda
I'd give it a go, but I doubt there's anything on I could actually watch for 72 hours. If you expect me to watch the same program for that length of time it'll certainly not happen, I'd want a variety, say, a few shows of Lost, then maybe Friends, a couple of films... in that respect, I wouldn't notice the time so much and I'd have fun attempting a world record, not like those daft twats that unicycle naked backwards over a gorge while singing, wearing a vest on fire. Girish
Give me some good porn with Latina chicks and I'll stay awake for 100 hours. You can try but I'm pretty sure your Mr. Johnson won't let you... ...unless you have some kind of a super human stamina.
