Volume10
My specs are Windows XP Pentium D 2.66Ghz x2 processors 2GB of RAM 75GB of 260GB free disk space (deleting & moving more all the time) ATI Sapphire HD3870 graphic card (with latest drivers) Playing through Steam My internet downloads go this fast ~ 17740kbps and uploads this fast ~ 710kbps I can play the game with high settings flawlessly, no problems at all, its really great fun & I love it, no regrets about buying it. However, if I join multiplayer, I can join, create etc and then play completely flawlessly as well, no lag, no problems, it's so smooth, it's a lot of fun until I then suddenly find myself disconnected "because my computer is not fast enough" I have called my cable company and blamed them and they told me that my modem is a few years old and can maybe not handle the speeds being pumped through it just now. I am expecting a more up to date one on Wednesday free of charge but somehow I don't think this is related to my "computer is not fast enough" message. HOW then can I play this game absolutely flawlessly in both single player & multiplayer until it disconnects me with this error? How can I fix it? I have already tried putting all my settings on low to join multiplayer I still disconnect. Thanks Confused. I was also experiencing this problem and I have high-end stuff. I just eventually gave up on the multiplayer. If anything, clients should just receive a message, server is slow. Volume10
Yea that message is silly. I don't want to have to keep opening the multiplayer menu and rejoining it everytime it disconnects me. This is the only way I can play multiplayer at the moment and it's not good. I'm going to keep trying so if anyone reading this sees people who keep join and leave again, you know .. it might be one of us, and i'd love to stay in your game longer than 5-10 mins. I really would.
Volume10
I just read something that says you can increase your windows (initial) paging file to 1.5x your RAM and the (maximum) to 3x your RAM if your system isnt clogged. Upon inspection just now, mine was extremely lower than that, do you think it might help to push it up? Nvm, disconnected! CPU is less demanding though... ZaCkOX
Volume10, the code is in the game, if they just remove it, you won't suffer from this problem.

Psythik
This happens to me ALL THE TIME. I can only join games in lobbies, because if I join any game in progress, the framerate drops to 5 and it kicks me within 10 seconds. But if I join a game from the lobby, I get an acceptable 35-40FPS. It's been WAY too long without a fix for this. Rockstar, are you listening? And while you're at it, quit sending me back to SP whenever I get dropped from a game! (What happened to taking me back to the MP lobby?!) /Oh, and here are my benchmark results if they help: StatisticsAverage FPS: 39.62 Duration: 37.21 sec CPU Usage: 92% System memory usage: 70% Video memory usage: 64% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Medium Render Quality: High Reflection Resolution: Medium Water Quality: Medium Shadow Quality: Medium View Distance: 32 Detail Distance: 50 Definition: On VSync: Off Hardware Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Video Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series Video Driver version: 7.14.10.636 Audio Adapter: Speakers (ASUS Xonar DX Audio Device) Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.80GHz Edited February 10, 2009 by Psythik

MajorVienna
They need to remove all the NAT analysis code while they're deleting that too. I'm sure that people would love to see anyone at all enter their multiplayer game, stuttering like crap? no worries, come have a beer at Lucky Winkles

AFA
Whenever I join a game, it runs fine for about 5 minutes, then the framerate drops to about 3, and within 15 seconds I disconnect. If only there was some way to override this.

Start up type: Change it to Disabled. 6. Click OK. 7. Close services. 8. Restart your pc. 9. Open Rockstar Games Social Club. 10. Press PLAY, and ENJOY!!!!!!!! mkey82
You need to improve performance greatly as GFWL likes to disconnect people who run "slow".

malboshia
ok this game is messed up and we all know it, i have had just about every error that has been metioned in needed fixes, first i couldn't play it at all and kept getting the ws10 fatal error message anytime i ran the game, took me over a day before i found a patch called xliveless, that fixed the sw10 error but removed GFWL "games for windows live" from the game all together, and the only reason i got the game for pc is so i could play it on pc insted of getting a ps3 or xbox 360 just to play this one game... so i removed the xliveless and kept looking for more fixes eventualy someone on here in one of the threads posted a link to a hole list of patches so i tryed that, it worked!!! one of the last of the patches even removed the need for sosial club or whatever it called, you still need to log into the sosial club when first startting up but it loads the game fine and the GFWL is there and works! of course though i got my hopes up yet again just to have them crushed.... as soon as i load up the game and enter a online match wheather i start it or not, it dissconnects me and gives me a message saying "you were dissconnected becuase your computer is running too slow" ........ i have a brand new laptop that is top of the line and has great performance in games that would crash on normal systems like APB reloaded, or WOW, or any other masivly multiplayer games out there but yet this game is telling me my comp is too slow??? great job R*** ...... f your trying to scare pll away from playing your games then you did a great job at it i give up.... 4 f...ing days of patches and error fixes and reinstalations major cpu usage and major hard drive space used up and i still can't play the game online, btw its not my net connection either since i have a excilent cable connection with very very little lag if any on anything net wise... so hey again great job R* you managed to make another person hate your products... come on now we should be way past these issues in tec and comp games, but yet this game acts like it was made back when pc games were a new thing.... fix this before you loose another buyer btw here is the link for the patches i found that fixed my other errors and let me actualy work the game itself without loosing GFWL, http://download.gta-expert.it/gta-4/120-pa...restazioni.html
mkey82
For the WS10 error you only need to install/reinstall GFWL. For your other problem, you specs are probably low because a) GTAIV is one of most demanding games of all time b) most laptops don't cut it. Comparing GTAIV to lower spec games like those you mentioned is just silly. Besides that, GFWL is f*cked up (or it is just so that R* doesn't know how to use it properly) so you can get disconnected for any number or reasons. Loads of douchebags like to spawn loads of tugboats on the map which overloads everyone's CPU, the end result being that anyone in the immediate area experiences a massive drop in FPS and is eventually disconnected. There's very little you can do about these people unfortunately. If you manage to identofy them and kick them, they return under a different ID and do it anyway. Hopefully GTA 5 won't allow people to have multiple IDs and we can blacklist these assholes for good.

Red Hat
Download the latest patch from : http://rockstarsupport.zendesk.com/entries...-0-5-2-japanese You have complained your Internet cable company so, you tell them to give you a replacement of the modem because old modems cannot take speed very fast. After the replacement also you are having the problem then Try contacting Rockstar Suppport : http://support.rockstargames.com/
Cody5699
I play MP my FPS records between 50 and 80 then some noob will come in and overspawn cars that drop fps below 10 in seconds and fps lags every damn person from your game. There a way to bypass the following.... "You have been disconnected because your computer is running too slowly"
