ShawMishrak
I just downloaded GTA:SA from Steam and I'm having trouble getting it to run. I start a new game and get to the cut-scene at the cemetery, and the game crashes to the desktop during the drive-by. It doesn't matter if I watch the cut-scene or skip it, it still crashes. I've tried enabling admin privileges, but no luck. I cannot set compatibility mode to XP or Win98. Steam seems to check if you have it set and refuses to run if it is set. I've tried it on Vista Ultimate x64 and Windows 7 x64. Any ideas? System: Core i7 920 6GB RAM nVidia GTX 280 Latest drivers for all hardware Thanks! cacarla
Try deleting the .set file if it does exist. It's located in your user files folder.
Girish
If deleting the set file doesn't help, then chances are that the crash is due to your heavy duty configuration. Try changing the processor affinity. Run the game > Alt+Tab out of it > Go to Windows Task Manager > Processes > Right-click gta_sa.exe > Set Affinity > Check only CPU 0. Uncheck the rest. ShawMishrak
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, neither helped. If it matters, Vice City runs just fine.
