from OFFLINE account to ONLINE

I have an offline account and I'm around 55% of the game. Can I transfer my progress(saves?) to an online account? Also what about achievements? For example, there is an achievement for finishing the first mission which is now locked(as are all achievements) due to my offline account. At my online account this achievement will be filed without the need to play the game from the begging?

Achievements will activate upon finishing what you supposed to do, for instance, for the "out of the boat" thing, you'll have to start a new game. And of course, logged into GWL.

For the saved games, I copy-paste what I wrote about in other topic:

Saved games go to Document and settings > yoursystemname > Local configuration? (I have it in Spanish) > Program Data? (again, I have it in Spanish) > Rockstar Games > Savegames > here there should be some folders named user_exxx etc.

So, you should have saved one of those folders, keep it somewhere. So start a new game, save and exit (at least leave the game autosave at least once).

Quit the game, go to that location, check the "last created" file inside those user folders, when you find the recent created one, drop your saved games there. You should now be able to load your games.

Are you sure that my saves from offline account works with online account? I found this but I don't know if I must do it or not.

 

 

This is a guide how to load a savegame if you've lost your XLive account for the savegame(s).

I won't be responsible if you mess up something with your computer.

(This guide is not for newbies)

 

1. Download a hexeditor and install it. Example: Hex Workshop

 

2. Write down the "E0xxxxxxx" code from your savegame folder which ones XLive account you've lost.

 

3. Create a new XLive account.

 

4. Go to "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\Content\E0xxxxxxxxx\FFFE07D1\00010000"

 

5. There you will find a one file, open it with the hexeditor.

 

6. Find following lines:

7. Now replace the underlined lines with the code you wrote down at step 2.

(Notice the upper line, it is writed backwards)

 

8. Save the file.

 

9. Rename the following file and folders with the code you wrote down at step 2:

 

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\Content\E0xxxxxxxxxx

 

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\Content\E0xxxxxxxxxx\FFFE07D1\00010000\E0xxxxxx (the file you hexedited)

 

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\Content\E0xxxxxxxxxx\FFFE07D1\00010000\E0xxxxxxxxxx_MountPt (leave the "_MountPt" at the end, don't remove it)

 

10. Copy the old savegames to "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames"

 

11. Play

Just hit HOME and click the large button on top "Connect to LIVE"
