sound issues

I've finally got GTA working again, but like before I'm having issues with sound in the game.

 

It seems to jitter/crackle about once every second which is really frustrating, my drivers are the latest and I've even tried setting the sound acceleration thing to lower settings but its the same. Every other game is fine on my computer.

 

My specs are as follows:

PCIe sound blaster titanium Fatal1ty Pro series (driver version 2.17.4)

z-5500 over analog connection

intel 2.3 ghz quad core,

4 GB ram

GTX 280

 

 

Any ideas?

you said you tried the sound accelerator thing is that the -minspecaudio or another on there was also a -notimefix have you tried both on some mother boards like mine theres knows issues with sound problems, what motherboard do you have ?

I'm having the same problem, the intro movie skips with the audio, which crackles every few seconds, often skipping/cutting out on people's voices.

 

My set up is

 

Intel core2duo e8500 3.16ghz

Nvidia GTX 260 core 216

4 gigs ram

windows xp

sound blaster audigy

 

I've tried updating drivers and turning down the sound card acceleration but no joy, anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: Also i have the retail version.

 

Another Edit: Switching from my headset (with mic) to my speakers seem to fix it, this is an odd problem, my headset works fine with every other audio application.

 

Last Edit (i promise): Ok so i disabled my soundblaster volume control thing in the bottom right of the screen (in the system tray) and that seemed to fix the problem, at least i think that's what solved it...If i find anything else out i'll post up.
