Rafinha
Hi guys, I am new here but I have some troubles, please tell me how to change my IP address and after that to don't have problems. I use Vista, please help me!
Girish
If you change your IP, your internet won't work anymore. Every IP is specific to a computer, afaik. Only your internet service provider can do it safely without affecting your connectivity.
Rafinha
Umm, exactly wtf should I do? Or maybe exist a program which hide my IP during some games and when I enter in an online game?
Otter
Google. It's awesome. http://whatismyipaddress.com/staticpages/i...e-my-ip-address
Jim
So, do you want to change your Internet IP address, or the IP address specific to your computer? If you are talking about the IP specific to your computer, use the method Otter posted. If you mean an Internet IP; if you have a dynamic IP, you could just reset your modem. If you have a static, you're out of luck. Although, you could possibly negotiate with your ISP for a new one, but I wouldn't bother. If you don't know which type of Internet IP you have, you could try resetting your modem anyway, and see if you have a different IP after everything reconnects. ayushisrocking
It seems you need to know how to change your PC's IP address...there isn't a way to change your IP address, as it will 'disable' your internet. Each IP Address is specific to a computer.
Drag_Drift
Get a router, then use a proxy.
Rafinha
When I said that I wanna change my IP means this: I am banned from SAMP from one of my favorite server and I am banned too from its website. I wanna change my IP to acces this again and to don't let the admins to recognise me. With proxy I tried, it works kust for accesing the website, but I don't know how the hell they recognised me, because I used proxy, which hide my IP. AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY ayushisrocking!!!!!!!!!!! Edwards
Wait for your ban to expire or ask the admins to unban you. Once. Politely. I run an IRC network, and if you evade a ban you've pretty much destroyed any chance of ever being accepted again. sysnode.org
Wightboy
Open up CMD Type ipconfig /release Enter then... ipconfig /renew Enter And IP addresses arnt specific to your isp.... since most routers rotate external IP's regularly anyway... (called an Ip range) And yeah dont ip change to avoid a ban in gtaf. Just wait till your time is up (if temp) or make a new account (your not Ip temp banned here) and sice mods and admins circle these parts regularly its kina silly asking publicly how to avoid a ban

Rafinha
I am not banned from GTAForums, I am banned from another server and for sure I am not accepted here. I need a new IP because I wanna play again on my favorite server from SAMP and to enter on their forum, how I said, with hiding IP wasn't a bad idea but they detected me. I use Vista, any tutorial for it?

From whether you use a dynamic or static; simply how they route their network. You're better off using a proxy, and many tutorials can be found on how to use one by Googling. It depends on how the ISP routes their data, and how you're connected to the Internet. Renewing the IP on your computer will only work if you're connecting directly to the ISP, and in most cases you're not because most ISPs give their customers a modem/router specifically for their network. This is why you're better off going with a proxy rather than messing with the modem/router. Edited February 10, 2009 by Vicehog
SyphonPayne
Ugh. I'm an admin on a popular MTA server and those tards with dynamic IP's sure do piss me off. Wildcards FTW.
computerman
IP addresses are not specific to each computer. IP Addresses handed out by an ISP to your home computer/router/whatever are usually based on hardware(MAC) addresses. When I plug my router into my cable modem at home, I get a different IP address than I would if I used any one of the laptops or desktops. With that said - do you have a home router? If you do, they have a feature that allows you to use the MAC(hardware) address of another computer - this would most likely give you a different IP address. Yes, there is a program that enables you to connect again if you're banned from playing from that server. I just don't know the programs name, just google it. computerman
Even with a dynamic address, it might not work - depends on how the dhcp is set up.
Rafinha
What exactly did they ban you FOR? They banned me for this: The server I talk about it's Novocaine. I was banned by sistem with no reason, but Austin resolved me. I was happy until a day when I applyed for NoV fighter(like an admin) and after that for Votekicker. Austin told me that I can't be Votekicker, but I asked him why...He told me that if I post one more time at the topic he will ban me. I accepted and I didn't posted. In another day, HAMM3R entered on NoV and I told him that I applyed for VK and he made me VK, but for a short time, because, immidetiately Austin retreat the VK. I asked him on NoV forum why he retreat and he didn't answered. Or maybe as an answer, he banned me from the server and from the forum too. I used proxy to make a new acount, but I don't know how they know that I am the guy who Austin banned. I mean my first nick. Any ideas? EDIT:I run Vista, don't work this: Run-cmd-ipconfig/release-Enter-ipconifg/renew-Enter Edited February 13, 2009 by Rafinha
