Practicing Helicopter Flight

I posted this in the wrong section so here it go's again

 

I keep failing the mission where you are suppose to fly after Dimitri as I can't control the helicopter.Is there a helicopter where I can practice flying on somewhere ?

Quickest way use a cheat done practice but dont save... or get one from the helitour place i think its called

i had trouble with the controls on this mission... i assume you're on the PC version since i saw your post on the PC forum

 

so, the problem i had was that upon entering the chopper, the camera would face to the left, and i couldn't see where i was going, nor could i change the view

 

so after some 3 or 4 tries i discovered that by holding the right mouse button, you can change the view

 

this problem only seemed to occur for me on this mission, choppers spawned by cheat or the ones laying around the city don't seem have this problem

You can use the numpad to control the heli, it's much easier than the mouse.

 

Then you can go to the Helitours and practice. I use a controller so flying is a breeze for me.

Well done, now please tell us (if on PC) how you managed to climb into the heli...

 

To practice - find a "borrowable" copter from the tours place, the house in northern Alderney or the pad near the bridge to Alderney. Or in MP free mode there are Annihilators at Helitours and the airport.

 

The bit chasing Dimitri is much easier if you change the view to 1st person as soon as you're flying the heli.

The mission is a pain. I get the chopper but always fail to catch Dimitri .I have attempted it about 14 times and always fail on the chopper

have the same camera problem when I get in the heli, also the heli refused to turn or climb altitude

 

ugh really frustrated with this, last mish is so buggy

I have a PS3, but regardless of controls, when I first started flying helicopters I always ended up in the sea! I just practised and practised between missions, until I could fly and manoeuvre well. Now it's a doddle.

 

I usually got a chopper from Helitours.

I used to practice flying low, turning, hovering, soft landing, and makes runs trying to cut is as close as I could to buildings in Algonquin. Knowing how to use your rear chopper blades to turn/circle is also key. Heli is a tricky machine to use but it's also the best machine (gun, car, whatever) in the game.

Everyone who has a problem with the last mission because the helicopter doesn't face the right direction doesn't remember the beginning of the game very well. Remember if you're following something, to focus on it what do you do? Remember?

Hold down caps lock. Works every time.

if u want to fly straight and fast, then tap numpad8 and W alternately. that seems to work for me, it keeps you at roughly the same height whilst moving you forward. i am stuck on the last mission too though, my flying skills are quite poor. first attempt i crashed into ocean, second time I got shot by one of his rockets! gutted!

 

im going to give it another try tonight, i think just try NUMPAD 8 + W, and then use A and D to dodge his rockets?
