ikt
Shadows like to kill your CPU. Maybe you have a kick-ass graphics card, a crapload of RAM but a crappy CPU. What are your specs?

Thats awesome, play it while it lets you! Until I did a few upgrades recently, I got very inconsistant performance out of the game, sometimes in the 30's, most times in the teens in fps. I've had mine running stable now for a little over a week, finally enjoying the game as it should be!
VietnamRebel
This happened to me too. I was running it at the settings I used for my 9600GT 512mb, even though I had upgraded to a 9800GT 1gb...ran like crap. I just upped the settings, and bam, all better! Strazdas
thats mistery to me aswell. in some games medium settings give better fps than low for me aswell. that was very effective in lot planet:extreme condition for me.
