_Rob_
i was wondering does anybody know how to do this, i would really like to see each detail of the models so that i could view them, and with permission from sony aftawards perhaps even release a mod, thanks in advance
agent17
Nearly all games will use custom undocumented file formats. Especially older games like Medievil. I'd say its pretty damn near impossible. Good luck anyway.
QwertyAAA
Duuuuuuuuuuuuude, it's a PS game. Seriously, a PSone mod? How amusing. Anyway, maybe try emulating the disk on PC and then ripping the models from the emulator?

How amusing.Anyway, maybe try emulating the disk on PC and then ripping the models from the emulator? well i hope to use these models as a base for a higher definition mod, also maybe using cutscene models, anywhoo im trying that, but cannot find the correct tool for extracting in this way, if you find a way il be more than happy to hear it, thanks
Otter
I think you'd be better off working from the concept art instead. Even if you did find a way to extract those models, they'd be so far gone out of date as to be totally useless to you, even as a reference. Otter
Don't discuss downloading ROMs here. It's against the rules, and there's no expressly legal way to do so. Can't PSone discs be read by a standard PC optical drive?
sananoutlaw
Do you mean 3ds max? Hope you know how to use it already, it takes quite a while to learn. Do you have a trial? cos to buy costs thousands...
Otter
Where'd you get "3DS max" out of anything this guy's said? Thanks for showing up, internet cop, but your services aren't required.

_Rob_
roms are legal if you own a copy of the game, plus now i used my own cd image, besides that i got DX ripper working but it saves the model as a 3dr, which is fine i can open it in max easy, but there is no data and its only 1kb, little help edit:after more looking into it, nothing shows when wireframe mode is enebled, and when textures are turned off, maybe a problem with the emulator, il try a different one Edited February 8, 2009 by bammargera

Anyhow, be sure you're using DirectX in your emulator and not OPEN GL. This whole ripper thing sounds like spooky magic to me, but good on you if you can get it to work. Good point, that's exactly why I wouldn't even bother with it in the first place. It would probably be easier to recreate the models yourself, Medievil is such an old game that that you could possibly create even better model meshes than those in the game, even with relatively little experience. _Rob_
On the first sight, what is the file structure? well for the rom, its an img file, unfortunately it wont open in gta img edit, that'd be too easy, and on the disc of the game it is a STR file for each charecter and map
