it's a tough call for me but I think i'll have to go with Radio X. I love me some early 90's rock!

1) Radio X

2) K-DST

3) Liberty Rock Radio

4) Radio Broker

5) LCHC

imo v-rock is so horrible it doesn't deserve to be on the list. i wouldn't be surprised if V-rock became #1 in the poll however...

V-Rock Vice City! Nothing beats blasting Slayer from your infernus while getting chased by the cops.

Also loved K-DST, cruising through the country side in San Andreas listening to Free Bird was awesome.

After those two it's a tie between LCHC and Radio Broker.

Same here! Love Radio-X! Early-to-mid 90s rock is the BEST! Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are my favorite bands.

LCHC was absolutley abysmal. It didn't hardly have any 2007 music and the classic songs were poor, like most of the GTA 4 radio. K-DST was classic, and one of my favourite ever, after Flash fm . Radio X is great, V-Rock is ok.

Radio Broker. Really Really poor.

Not a fan of rock music, but there were two songs from VCS V-Rock I liked. (Holy Diver and Rock you Like a Hurricane). I also liked "Hold the Line" from K-DST and the Rage Against the Machine song from Radio X.

What about Head Radio?

Anyway, K-DST is my favorite.

Head Radio is pop music.

Soft Rock, actually.

Anyways, it's a hard choice, but i think i'm gonna go with K-DST on this one.

V-Rock all the way, 80's rock music ftw.

V-Rock on both VCS and VC are the creme de la creme.

Everyone knows this, there is no debate. Sure, taking these replies may throw doubt, but a year or more ago, there was a poll made with all the stations for GTA, it's found via the search function, dating back a bit I am not sure it was updated for "4", however, Vice City's VROCK won over ALL other contenders.

The reason I see it is 80s music influenced much of the appreciation for VC among new and old fans, as well as the selection of artists were very notable. With GTA4, that is not the trend, it's more an eclectic mix chosen to represent the themes and locations, As Sam Houser has mentioned, a 'vibe' consistant with this story, this Liberty City setting.

yeah i remember those old polls. for me the best GTA musically was San Andreas. I just love the 90's so much. I like 80's music too, but not 80's metal. Emotion was my favorite station in Vice City. That station was the most nostalgic for me, it had lots of songs from my early childhood. To me the 80's was the dark age of rock. And today we're in a new dark age. By dark age it doesn't mean that everything is bad, just most mainstream music. devil.gif

I love VC's V rock. They had Ozzy in his prime. VCS had a funnier script. Cousin Ed giving Lazlow a hard time was great.

Wow, this topic really made me stop for a second and think...

I don't think it's quite possible for me to put into words how important Vice City's V-Rock and San Andreas' Radio X were to me.

I remember buying the OST for Vice City via preorder. I absolutely wore out the V-Rock and Wave 103 CD's in no time flat.

I'm voting for V-Rock from Vice City. Simply because I probably received more attention from myself. Overall though, the genres which the stations are built around, V-Rock being 80's hard rock/metal... and Radio X being more grunge/alternative, I would definitely say that the genres which fit me better would be Radio X's style... Although the last concert I went to was Motorhead/Judas Priest... the one before that was Stone Temple Pilots.

The decisions the decisions... turn.gif

I loved all the rock/metal stations, but Radio X had to be my favorite. All the other rock/metal stations were great too.

Living in the 80s decade, I was quite unhappy with the pop and dance music that also took hold of MTV, the alternatives on free broadcast TV were sometimes clearly better, but limited in their scope. (due to times as part of a Network programming, they were not 24 hours a day like cable)

Vice City being the first foray by RN to put licensed tracks in and get some DJ comedy up to par... I like them getting musicians in as Djs to. I think I will fondly enjoy both the radio banter and songs in the years ahead.

One thing I appreciated was the transition from the In The Future There Will be Robots radio advert to the lead in song after that of "I wear my Sunglasses at Night"...the music segue was perfect.

Now, the rotation is somewhat varied and the DJ banter less interesting with GTA4. Just some random thoughts on the radio

K-DST played the kind of rock I like.

I only do classic rock, that Joel Ortiz hip hop remix was a nice song but other than that classic rock is the only thing I'll listen to.

therefore,

1.K-DST

2.Liberty Rock Radio

3.VROCK

4.Radio X ( had GNR, thats about it )

5.Radio Broker I guess. I never listened to it, I just liked hearing the " Radio Broker " thing they say, it sounded cool tounge.gif

I agree with you, pretty much.

1. K-DST

2. Liberty Rock Radio

3. Radio Broker

4. Radio X

5. V-ROCK

Don't get me wrong... I like them all. Just some have more songs I like than others.

I went with Liberty Rock Radio... but I liked Radio X and K-DST a lot as well. I honestly liked most of them, though Juliet Luis annoyed the crap out of me on Radio Broker (i mean it was supposed to be funny... but it reminded me a little to much of annoying people I know) and with V-Rock I like about 50% of the songs and can listen to other 50% for laughs when I'm in the right mood... if I'm not in the right mood those songs (hair metal) are just annoying.
