If there is going to be a new GTA we won't see it probably for another 5-6 years seeming as the map alone in GTA IV took like 4 years or something to make...a newer GTA map would take alot longer I think also do you guys think a new GTA will be on PS3/360 or do you think it will be on a next gen console I hope they rebuild San Andreas personally everyone give me there predictions as if there will be another GTA/If you think it will be on a new console/and what city youd like to see it set in Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In means that, in spite of some rumours, we probably won't see a new one earlier than 2011. Like Maco said it only took so long with IV, because it was the first GTA on PS3/360, and everything had to be rebuilt. The foundation is set, now R* can build on top of it. It might take longer if R* do something crazy like increase the map size 5 times larger than SA lol. In my dreams maybe. I don't think R* would've worked so hard on R.A.G.E, and Euphoria only for it to be used in one GTA. We'll see more of it. Mark my words. Probably not just in GTA, but future R* video games aswell. .:Alex:. Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Yeah they had to make RAGE after Renderware fell through. And of course, they wanted a powerful engine that's capable of so much more. Because RAGE belongs to them, they have complete control over it, don't need to pay for it and can instead invest in developing it further. I have no doubt that we'll be seeing it used for many GTA games to come in the future. Indeed, future games won't take as long as it's simply a case of taking the existing infrastructure, changing some things, and improving upon it. And personally, I want an entirely new location. We can expect for the next Gta, RAGE engine tweaked, Euphoria tweaked (assuming they secured the rights to use euphoria in future games) Bigger play area, everything you'd expect to be improved. Indeed it would be absurd to stop here. There will be two more in the canon, just like last time. You notice how peds run away from SO many different actions in IV? They are reacting to things, and will get different options as the next games come out. The city will feel less and less like a pack of pussies, basically. They'll react more ways, consider "run away" a placeholder for many things it is used for right now. Lot's of things are like that. And I don't want to get into a discussion about it here, but San Andreas and Vice City. They will be here. They will be grand. Their additions will carry over into Liberty. the nameless Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 With no expert knowladge or insider information, I am sure they will make at least one more, but like others have mentioned, they will no doubt milk this one for a while first. Regarding time to make a new story and map, there is every chance that it's wrong, but I heard they were working on the basis of 4 whilst finnishing San Andreas. I know EA do this with the need for speed franchise, so if that is the case, then it may be already in the making. But as I've said with milking IV for DLC, then probably creating new myths for people to revisit IV to try and find, my estimate for GTA: NEXT is October 2011, pushed back untill April 2012, then possibly again to Oct 2012. As to where, I'm with the first guy, San Andreas was and still is my favourite Location, and I'd love to see it revamped - not too much though. But I wouldn't care if it was Vice City - I just think that because Vice City is so small, it would have to be with somewhere else new - or with San An, that would would be great. The fabled Carcer City would be fine with me too, as would England, but I would be very dissapointed if it is in Liberty City again. I don't keep up with techno news, so I don't know if it's in the works, but I can't see a PS4 being out by 2012, and there is not going to be a new Xbox without a new Play Station, I know the xbox will probablly come first, but again, not by 2012. Think of this though, RAGE and Euphoria will probably still be used, that said, San An improved on Vice and III with little things like climbing walls and swimming, and IV improved on San an with a new fighting system, Drive by targeting, and cover system.
