whatiwawa
Hey guys. I don't know if this happens to alot of people but I just bought GTA 4 for the PC. I installed everything, made a "social" username, and got it all good. But when I clicked on the shortcut to the game program the following happens. -It goes into the game "user is subject to licence... (blady blady blah)" -Then the window closes and a big "FATAL ERROR" screen pops up. -It reads "GTA IV FTAL ERROR: Unable to create depth render target- Please re-install DirectX and/or install the latest video card driver." -Followed by the "send or don't send error report" So I did a little research. I went and googled the DirectX and I installed "DirectX10" onto my hard drive. Not much of a difference happened. Then I went to the Video card. Being a novice at computer mechanics, I had no idea, but I found out that the minimum requirements were: Video Card: 256MB NVidia 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900 I have a Windows XPS M170, is all I really know. So I really don't know what to do! Please help so I can get playing!

Nicko666
I'll be honest your laptop is going to struggle to run this game at all. Your pc XPS M170 Intel Pentium M 780 / 2.13 GHz 1 GB Ram(memory) NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX GTAIV Minimum Hardware Requirements: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz Memory: 1.5GB Free Hard Drive Space: 16GB Video Card: 256MB NVidia 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900 DirectX 9 compatible Stereo Sound Card This tells me your Graphics card, Ram and chip are no good for this game. Just from your specs I would really advise you take the game back to the shop or sell it to someone (no offence) More ram and a another graphics card would help but that processer chip aint gonna cut it. If you did manage to run the game it will run like complete crap, just look at threads with high spec pc's struggling to run this game. You cant download DX10 it comes with windows vista only. Cheers. Edited February 8, 2009 by Nicko666
