Slamman 130 Posted February 8, 2009 I can't escape being bombarded both on the Net and USA TV with what is going on with movie actors and starlets in Hollywood, California...even when I am not keenly interested. I used to watch and tape Entertainment Tonight, a news show on film and music events...something like 1982 it began. Now there's an inescapable influx of what happened TODAY in LA-LA Land. The question here is, do you take a morbid interest in these, or totally ignore them, or happen to just be bombarded with them anyway?
The-King 202 Posted February 8, 2009 Every time I see all this Entertainment News bullsh*t I can't help but wonder what happened to the world, people used to care about things that mattered once upon a time, but not so much anymore. It's almost sickening, to think that people get paid thousands upon thousands of dollars to follow around famous folks, harassing them, turning every once of foods they eat, every pair of underwear they buy into a news story. I've always been baffled at how this interests anybody, how does Clay Aiken's sexual preferences affect anyone?
fuckindumass 1 Posted February 8, 2009 I stopped watching TV years ago. I pay for cable, but I've never hooked it up in the rooms I use. I, um, get my news here

I could care less who's dick Paris Hlton is currently sucking, or about Lindsey Lohan buying a dog. What is even more sickening is that this sh*t actually sells and is popular among people. We're a society completely obsessed with celebrities, and it's usually the f*cktard celebrities at that.
PacMaan 2 Posted February 8, 2009 It's like any industry - it's driven by demand. As long as sad loser fags keep buying celebrity gossip mags, or demanding by-the-minute celebrity news, or looking for 246 sequenced covert pictures of random starlet eating a kebab after falling out of a nightclub completely pissed and coked-up. The Unvirginiser 3 Posted February 8, 2009 I just feel sorry for the women who discuss it over cups of tea as if they know the people in real life. "Oh, isn't he a bastard for doing that! With them two lovely kids! I told Wendy, I said 'oooh Wendy, isn't he a bastard!' the poor girl!"
1ManArmy 0 Posted February 8, 2009 It's because alot of people long to be like those beautiful celebrities and money and stuff. But they know their chances are slim, so poor losers just do the next best thing. Be obsess about em'.
PacMaan 2 Posted February 8, 2009 True - being obsessed with celebrities and knowing every detail of their lives makes people feel one step closer to them and the associated lifestyle. Idiots.
LanceVanceDance07 7 Posted February 8, 2009 I try to ignore these celebrity stories. I don't understand why people care about celebrities in the first place. Aren't there more important things in the world to worry about?
trip 13,449 Posted February 9, 2009 I used to watch and tape Entertainment Tonight ummm? you admit that openly? there was an influx of them around that time. is that the one that had the host who then later went on to become one of those cheesy new age keyboard weirdos? was it john tesh?(name just came to me) i don't really watch enough tv to be effected. Slamman 130 Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah, in the 80s it was interesting to me, and a novel idea. Now it'd be much more interesting to just be out there getting pictures and selling them! hahaha What a great way to make a living! Anyway, I would bet you currently, not a week goes by where Jessica Simpson is not mentioned a couple times within a week. (in the US)
