gamevirus01
i just realise that the average FPS that i get from my bench mark is different to the one that i have in the game...i usually get over 40FPS in the benchmark test but in game..i only get 30-37 FPS and in some cases it even go down to 18-27+ which the gameplay is starting to have the "laggy and slow down" effect anyone knows why? john88z
The benchmark is accurate for mulitiplayer play only is what ive heard. What are you using to measure your ingame fps?

SickBoy254698
The number one reason for this is the fixed view of the camera in the benchmark. This prevents the game from having to process as much data as it normally does when you are playing. There are other reasons but this one impacts the score the most. IMO they should have used a more graphically intensive clip as the default to provide more realistic results.

Indeed, shouldve used a scene where theres like 10 cop cars chasing a person and a few helicopters, doing a chase and shootout scene

ron123
I will just give to all of you the point: The benchmark is worng R* put a banchmark to count frames at night, there are no peds or moving cars , no radio and other things that used in the real gameplay, with this short benchmark Rockstar just cheat you! Kurgen
Well, for once I actually agree(ish) with li'l Ron. The in-game benchmark is a scam, for the reasons already stated; fixed POV, lack of dynamic assets, night-time, limited area render... etc. The only even vaguely reality-based part is when the camera is "on" the bike. The only purpose it serves is to compare different detail level settings, which in itself is self-defeating - going from rock-bottom rez & detail to maxxed-out @ top-rez should pretty much always produce vastly differing results in any game. In GTA4, it's quite common to see little more than a 20 - 30 fps disparity. They really weren't kidding when they said this game was built with the future in mind; chances are, in two years time I'll have a PC that's capable of running it at a steady, acceptable frame-rate. I agree, so my 22FPS is only stupid fart joke. Benchmark....benchmark can suck my ass. You see only stupid Blues guys shootin like retards on their fag faggio's. Rob.Zombie
Since benchmark doesn't spawn npcs, it's not accurate. It's different to have an empty street and a street full of cars. Much more reflection and let's not forget about the physics engine as well...
influx0
I wonder if they'll ever bring in a proper benchmark with another patch, that has just about every performance/resource hog in use to actually determine the real worst case scenario fps.
