kokot Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 I know this rant's been made before but I just still can't believe people play with AA-on. Not people, every-fkn-body. It's just so lame. I was playing Turf Wars with some dude named DANGERBOIDEM and it was auto-aim. I was doing a pretty good job kickin' him and his friends asses, all things considered (everyone on my team left, for one.. ) but I was getting really annoyed by the auto-aim, so I text him to tell him to turn it off as the round was almost finished. What happens? Him and all his buddies kicked me. AUTO AIM TAKES NO SKILL!!! Ok then I got bored, joined a game of Cops and Crooks,.. auto aim of course because that's all you can find. What happened? I was too late and I ended up spectating. This is so f'cking annoying because now I have to leave multiplayer mode or watch the entire game. Why is there no option to choose a new game at this point? WHY OH WHY!! Most of all, why doesn't rockstar update this game with a proper lobby system and filters so I can see who's using auto-aim and not join? SuperJude™ Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Host your own games. That was my solution and I ranked up to 8 with my SJ account playing mostly disallow games of my own choosing. AA takes a certain type of skill, just not straight up aiming and shooting skill. We all know this of course and yes this rant of yours is ages old. I dunno, I guess I'm lucky, but I've found a lot of n00bs lately who are cool on participating in a series of disallow games. All the high ranked players play AA on. Nor in multiplayer nor in singleplayer. But I don't see people complaining... I'm now on level 8 and already played with players from rank 0 to rank 10, and nobody complained about AA being disallowed. But maybe it's because of that 95% of the times I win the deathmatches or I finish the co-op missions with more than 30/35 kills? xD EDIT: Hmm is this on the consoles? xD I'm talking about the PC version lol... I thought the topic is about that? If it is about the consoles, then it's normal that people want AA on. I mean, not having a mouse to play sucks bigtime... I just spent the last 15 minutes taking all kinds of homophobic abuse from some guy because I killed him, until I blocked him... What kind of loser does that anyway? There's so many agro retards online these days. Oh well, I'm not going to stress about it anymore.. but I definitely need to find a bunch of aa-off friends so I don't need to use the "quick join" function... anybody? If I see an AA game I'll leave and keep going into the game mode until I'm the host or someone else is hosting an AA off game which I'll gladly accept. AA I don't mind and its kind of acceptable in the modes that are cooperative like NOOSE and BDB2 and Cops N Crooks because I don't know it's not based on much. But if CC is AA off I won't mind it either because you're still competiting with people so you're not gonna want it to be easy. The majority of us do not play NOOSE and BDB2 or Deal Breaker for absolute fun anyway so why need AA off. But for the more important game modes that are competitive I like AA off. More people for me want AA off than on, look at there comments, complaints or anything. If I even try to start a free mode with AA on they get pissed. I really don't care wich I play, I have fun either way. They both have there perks. You can use a car with AA off and have less chance of being killed. But with AA on you can have a fast game where people are killing each other every second. AUTO AIM TAKES NO SKILL!!! Your totally wrong. The person who has more experience always ends up winning in either mode. What you should say is, Auto Aim takes no skill to get a kill, not to win a game. You cannot ever get a good measure of how good a shooter is. Even the greatest shooter out there, in an AA game, can die simply for getting too close and having their aim lock onto a passing car. I mean, not having a mouse to play sucks bigtime... actually, you're wrong. it doesn't suck at all. this might be overly generalizing, but sometimes i notice a pattern. players who are level 0-3 seem to want auto aim more. probably because they might be new and getting used to the whole thing. players level 4-7 seem to want auto aim off and call it noobish or whatever. and players rank 8-10 want it on so they can rack up their kill count. if i'm in a clan match or something, and the other team wants auto aim, i just say no. i've tried, but i have a hard time enjoying it, even if i'm owning the whole room, it just bores me. and i can't stand constantly yanking the target off one thing to shoot at another. but to each their own. play it anyway you want. From what I know SuperJude prefer AA-OFF, and he's pretty nice player, too! Why don't add him? Also, add me, I love AA-OFF. There you go, already 2 AA-OFF players... That's my solution, Cheers! He pulls over and starts to get out, at this point it becomes immediately apparent that he has no skill, because he needs to step out of the car to use his autoaim. I ram him and his car while getting a few bullets in and he gets crushed only to magically reappear beside my window and with one touch of autoaim he is aiming at my head and within half a second I am dead. There's no way a player with aa-off could get his bearings like that so quickly, and I just think it's so stupid people have to pull over and get out of their cars just to use auto-aim. There were several other occasions where I was driving and got killed way to easily, there's just no escaping it. @Grove - And okay auto-aim takes a tiny bit of skill to press the aim button and then lead it slightly in the direction of movement, or aim up for the head, wow so difficult... I just think it takes all the fun out of driving and doing drive-by's. Do they have auto-aim in COD? I dunno I've never played it but I've played a few other shooters and none of them ever have this stupid feature. I must admit there is a greater satisfaction in killing auto-aimers with manual aim. I turned off auto-aim in the settings so it's never on for me. Anyone out there who likes to play with aa-off, I'm on PS3 and my PSN is in my sig. Tonight I'll be busy getting served in the DTW Cup. It seems only people interested in ranking up are using aa-on. That and newbs.. If I let my girlfriend play then sure, I can turn aa-on for her.. but I can't understand why rank 10 people are using it. Of course I'm playing for fun, I just get less enjoyment out of it when I'm flanked by someone with a shotgun as I drive past them at 100 miles per hour. Just hold down the L2 button slightly, your free aim range is greater than your AA so while the noobs are running at you to get within AA range you can kill them. Spuds725 Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) I admit it-- I prefer AA on but won't kick anyone for selecting it-- it does take more patience/skill and is more challenging and fun at times (if I'm not totally out matched)-- I like ot get some kills .... I can usually adapt to some strategies that will work against people who are better at aiming then me--- One of the funniest things was when I first started playing MP and was in a DM against someone with AA off-- I couldn't get good shot at him and he kept just running a zig zag pattern up to me and knifing me--- it got to the point I was running away from him even though he was bringing a knife to gun fight... But yes-- I'm a Rank 8 and it is still a long way to 10 (for the trophy)--- so to rack up kills faster AA is it... if I'm not in the mood for an AA off game, I just switch to a new game.... ditto redoing the lobby system so you can see what you are joining... Jude now you can see why I like AA-off, I do a lot of driving and it's just so much more even when it's off. Also when there's more people I like to play blips far, or even blips leader because it can add to the stealth of it all and make it that much more fun.... and when I'm hosting I always put reticule health off so that it's not so easy to shoot someone who's hiding in the bushes. I can tell you're more used to driving, most n00bs, once they come at me and I roll, will simply turn right around and generally get a few bullets in the face. You were tough to take out which equates to fun. I just met the M16carbine guy this morning actually, but he was a good teammate and in the next game, his team all quit cept for one dude but he stuck it out against 2 larger teams with good shooters. Today illustrated to me the exact difference. I spawned into an AA on game, went something like 48/10. Not bad but it felt like I died too much. The room went to somebody else who turned AA off, I then went 23/0 against the exact same team. Slower pace for sure but I also didn't die because some dude squatting in the middle of the the road managed to lock onto me as my aim locked onto his teammate who spawned behind me It's also who you play with. I had a game against mylungsareburnin a few weeks back where I forgot AA was on as we were both free aiming so much and in that, there are people who are great at AA because they are good at free aiming and really fast with the auto aim. I don't always drive around, it depends on the game mode but I think it's what makes GTA unique to all the other online shooter games, except SR I guess. I had a game against mylungsareburnin a few weeks back where I forgot AA was on as we were both free aiming so much and in that, there are people who are great at AA because they are good at free aiming and really fast with the auto aim. I have gotten better at aa off and in about 7 out of 10 matches I will have the most kills but I still dont like it. No matter what mode I am in ( aa on or off ) people try to kill me in cars or helicopters so that is why I prefer auto aim. Kill me on the ground, dont turn p*ssy if I start winnin.
