SLAYERMAGGOT
That's the steam version, i thought it's like the v2.0 and don't support moddinng. You can change v2.0 to v1.0, but not sure if it works in v3.0.

chngdman
To mod Steam Version of GTA SA (v3.0) you simply go to the common folder in your steamapps directory and COPY GTA SA directory to another location. Now you can REPLACE 3.0 exe with 1.0 No Cd exe (you need to find this somewhere else, NOT here) in that new copy of San Andreas folder. You NEED to do this on the copy, not the original, because steam will just fix it. Now you can mod ANY version of GTA SA...

chngdman
I am very confused by your post as well, sorry Let me explain it in steps. Assuming you have the Steam version of San Andreas, navigate to the Steam folder, wherever you installed Steam. Then go into SteamApps folder, finally into Common and then SA folder. In my case, I end up here: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto san andreas So for me to get there, I opened My Computer, clicked on Local Disk D, opened steam folder, then apps, then common, then GTASA folder. Now, open a New My Computer and go to a location where you can paste 4gigs. Make a folder there, name it something fitting "Modded SA" or something like that. Now you should have 2 Windows Explorer windows open. One should be in the empty "Modded SA" folder, and the other folder, whether it is in steam or program files, should be looking like this: That "installscript.vdf" and "testapp.exe" only comes with the Steam version, so you only have this if you do indeed have the game from Steam. Remember this, as you won't need it in your "Modded SA". Notice in the picture I have all files highlighted/selected. Do the same, Right Click, then click Copy. After you have copied all of these files, go to your empty "Modded SA" folder and paste a copy into there. This should take a few minutes, grab a soda. Now you have copy of the game in a new location and you can delete the copied "installscript.vdf" and "testapp.exe". You will need to find a "No DVD" or "No CD" patch of version 1.0. It will be a little over double the size of gta_sa.exe 3.0 (it will be 14,047KB). There are many online, but you cannot be linked them at this forum nor can an exe be given out, if I am to understand correctly. In that case, you need to hit google for that. It is the exe 3.0 that is prohibiting your modding, getting v1.0 will solve this. I am using the v1.0 scripts, too, but I don't think they are necessary. PM me again if you have any trouble.
