QwertyAAA
In short, this is one of the best and most innovative games ever created. ... Oh, you want a better description? Here you go. You play as a happy yellow walking flower in a world of vibrant greens and purples. It's a bloody flower - don't expect more than one HP. You can do only three things - move around with the arrow keys, jump [Z], and Evert [X], although the commands can be reassigned. Eversion is a major part of the game - in fact, the most important one. It is an ability to shift between worlds in specific areas marked by a change of music and the background screen's hue. This gameplay mechanic allows you to use previously inaccessible routes and pick up the gems - although some of the Eversion areas are available only in certain worlds, so some backtracking may be needed to get all of the gems. Those gems become essential at the end of the game. Fortunately, the gems you have collected stay collected, and you have unlimited lives. The enemies are plentiful - though most of them are defeated in the same manner as the SMB Goombas. However, if you evert into another world, they might just stop causing damage to you. Apparently, you also have to rescue a princess. There are eight levels, eight worlds, and two endings - a good one and a bad one - both awesome. To get to Level 8, when the counter inL7 is full, go to it and Evert right under it. Feedback: '...Deceptively awesome.' - VG Cats 'It... Ggradually throws overboard most of the standard platforming elements it appears to contain.' - Mobygames 'I enjoyed the game and its twists.' - Notes from Austin's Desk 'Graphics are sharp and classic. the art is fitting for each ‘level’ within the worlds and the music adds to the atmosphere. A perfect combination rarely seen even in AAA titles.' - Mr. Curtis of TIGdb Screenshots: Warnings: This game is absolutely not recommended for children or for those faint of heart. If you have not had previous heart problems, still keep the medicine close. This game may induce seizures and extremely acute paranoia. Do not play this if you have nervous tendencies. I f*cking mean it. Download here: http://zarat.us/tra/offline-games/eversion.html The ZIP is about 8 megabytes - and totally worth it. Do not criticize this topic or the game before you have played it. Please do not describe entire levels of the game in this topic. Edit: Please reply. Edit2: Yes, there is a reason for the warning. A very, very specific reason. Edited February 8, 2009 by QwertyAAA
QwertyAAA
Eh... I should reveal it, I feel... There is much, much more to it There is a VERY relevant quote by Lovecraft on the title screen. Is that enough to make you play it? Otter
It's a shame they didn't use flash. Looks interesting though - I'll give it a run and see how it is.
Creed Bratton
Is this some kind of screamer? I hate screamers...
poopskin
Evil demon hands?! Played it awhile ago, loved it. of course, the heartbeat in Eversion -7 got me a bit unsettled. of course, some C64 .SIDS (specifically, the title music from Manfred Trenz's Enforcer) solved that. oh, and anyone think this'd be great as a DOOMwad? QwertyAAA
...I've lost interest already. It's kinda fun - but does it get better? If you're on level 1 or 2 - yes. It gets fun in the world 5 - aka the level 4 . GTAVanja.... Uh... No.

QwertyAAA
Level 6? Hated that one. Isn't it the one where Yog-Sothoth chases you? It's terrifying, and to get to 8 you have to collect all gems in the game. However, you'll still get to rescue the princess if you don't. Yay! Anyway, it's not that hard if you're just going for a fast completion. Run through is all.
