potbelly221 Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 hi all every time i try to shut down gta4 i have to either push ctrl-alt-delete or push the start button on my pc and restart my pc. i cant shut down gta4 normally. i have the derect 2 drive version windows xp (service pack 3) . i have an alienware AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 2.81 GHZ. and 2 gigs of ram. and Nvidia SLI with two 8800 GT Nvidia cards. Granted I have an old system but it sure plays GTA 4 fairly well. At least i seldom ever get the blue screen of death thanks to the new patches but this is still a pain in the rear end because i gotta go thru all these channels just to shut the game off. logitechdog Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 should not ignore bsods.... your just making your life hell... as they will tell you whatt the problem is, can also damage your computer from doing allot of force shutdowns... normally its to reinstall your GFX drivers and a full uninstall first.. and a redownload of them... but check your system logs in event viewer... as for freezing might be caused by the thing the bsod is trying to tell you, also might be cause you forced shutdown your comp allot... make sure you run the disk cleanup after... and run the Error checking with both ticked then if it is still doing it then you probably have other things that you might of ignored?
