chngdman
It's just about over the top and stereotypes - this has always been a staple of the series, with all characters. Nice idea, but it's part of the big picture as whole, not just these three characters. Like the Truth, Cesar, Sal Leoni, all these characters have always been an amplified stereotype. Brucie, Jabob, Mallorie, Roman... stereotypes. Because they are controversial, mainly, and the game is sold on that factor.

I'm not mad at the stereotypes actually.(I know it's all in Fun) I just thought the Past main characters fit in better with their environment. CJ, had his Homies, Tommy had his Miami style crew, etc.. Johnny doesn't even seem to fit in...but neither does anyone in that gang. Thanx for that response. You made a good point. Like if you think about it, Biker Gangs are supposed to big a bunch of tough guys etc, so they will use a deeper more stronger sort of voice Also True, But it's totally different form the past is all I'm saying. A Black guy Swimming, getting a pilots license, running a gang, casino, Etc.. is a bit far fetched. (Just Joking) It's not a Problem, but I just wanted to know if anyone else realised how extreme they went with it. To the point where stereotypes don't exist. Ppl forget Niko is a terrorist, because the City makes you feel like an outsider. I actually started a fight when someone called Niko a "Polik/Polloc", and Neither of us are. It's Funny, but realistic how they make you feel the "Prejudice". But in the past games, we always seemed like a God-like figure, No matter the stereotype. QwertyAAA
The more stereotyped the character is, the more shocking it is when the character stops abiding by the stereotype. Simple. Anyway. It's basically like Brian Blessed.
Slamman
Johnny doesn't have an accent, Doesnt have an accent? sounded american to me. ^ I hope you are making a joke with that, right? The voices only fail in my mind when the presentation or scripted line fails. When Niko is flying the heli and tells Jacob not to smoke...it get's too explanitory and as such, annoying. People saw this same joke in SA, they don't need it drawn out for them verbally.

nlitement
In one dialogue they rather obviously poke fun at dialects that have double negatives, it was either Ray or Phil who said something like "I don't know nothing about nobody not doing nothing" (ROUGHLY something like that, but you get the point )
Slamman
The fact there was worry with mafia about people listening in, cars and offices bugged, and not being literal in discussions is a nice touch and charm about the game. It adds to the character's 'presentation', not that you get to know them TOO well, but it makes their traits particular... with the way they handle things in their speech. Besides cut scenes, the speech adds that identifiable factor because when they are with Niko in the LC 3D world, the audio really makes the believable factor come alive, pulling you in. Think of the game elements in terms of a film shot before scoring it! Big big difference. Anyway, it's a shame the actors take a small pay cut, but in the production of the games, more is spent on the tech side of the equation. The odd thing is that Rockstar opted to use new actors over famous Hollywood stars, but now there's an issue with pay popping up because the game did do so well. I think it is suprising Niko was well liked, beforehand there WAS doubt. Still, not everyone likes him.
