problem registering (offline)

I just bought Grand Theft Auto Liberty City today. The computer I want to install it on is not ONLINE. The game will not work on this laptop .. my only way to get online.

 

I have the product key - but it also wants this unlock code. I use one that is displayed and it seems to want online. I tried many things - can not get this game to work offline. Beating my head now since early this morning and I'm getting mad, just want to play the game.

 

What do I need to do to get it to work offline? Keeps wanting me to get online? Am I missing a step somewhere? What's with this "unlock" code?

 

I see this one "code" I try to copy and paste, that doesn't work. The Product Key I have down - just this other number above it, keeps changing also. I don't understand something. Then the next screen tells me to go online. I can't dang it with that offline computer. I have to drag my laptop downtown to a coffee shop just to get online.

 

Edit: Do you have to be online to install this game? Hope not.

If you wonna activate the game without Inet conection you must activate it by running the OfflineActivation.exe

in Grand Theft Auto IV\OfflineActivation folder

You get than a mask to insert 2 keys

1. the product key

2. the activation key

 

We all dont get this mask because our game is allready activated by standart activation

we had to insert only the product key and the rest was made automaticly

 

I remember that there is a info below this OfflineActivation mask with a link to rockstar to get a activation "tool"

You have to use than a online computer to get the activation key via this link

Thats all I know. Its a bad sh*t, man.

 

Do you wonna play at the end on your laptop or on an offline desktop?

Ya - this is all retarded. I get the drift of it now. This is - stupid.

 

I'm at a friends now with my laptop - can't do nothing on this run. But, I have information how to get it done the next time I get online with this laptop to get this all going.

 

I'm very mad. I should of been playing this game THIS MORNING. I bought the game at about 8:am. It's about 8:pm now - still can't play it (MADNESS).

 

The game will not even run on this laptop I'm using now that I use to get online. No way. I have this tower at home, it has very nice specs to it, just can't get online with it. Here soon I will be able to - I'm pinching pennies right now (I went all out just to buy this game).

 

This is really dumb Rockstar. You should be able to buy a game, install it and play it without having to get online. I'm very angry about this.

 

Guess that's the world we live in.

 

I have it figured out, I know what I have to do now. Tomorrow sometime .. I give up tonight.

OH ya.. my solution is going to be.. take my tower computer to my friends house tomorrow morning, get online with it. This is madness ... MADNESS!
