As for any redo of Vice City, this is how I'd like to see it done - just bring back Tommy, Ken, Sonny and everyone involved and basically reprise the same Scarface story. Expand Vice some to be bigger, maybe add/tweak some missions, add some more cars and maybe customization, gussy up the graphics some and call it a day. Release it. Everyone will eat it up. Loved Vice City Stories, thought. true i don't think he got one bit sad at all in the game, carl had emotions sure he was a badass but he had feelings and did vic tony sort of did and so does niko. Tommy didn't even have an expression of vioce it was always this deep straight voice like he coudn't even show any feeling just one tone of vioce. Loved Vice City Stories, thought. ftr, I'd prefer to see the series go in a different direction from trying to revisit VC of the mid-80s with a "Tommy-like character" (just paraphrasing from posts I read here). It seems a remake is what a lot of people want, and R* could make a killing if they did one. major underscore Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Sadly I think that the next major installment in the GTA series (that is not DLC) will be another game set in or about the year 2010. This simply because many younger players don't really identify with the setting in games like GTA: Vice City (1986) as much as they would with a game like GTA IV set in present day Lib City. I think that will reflect the name of the next game. Also notice that R* have made their last major title set in Lib City, so that's not a likely place for the next game, and neither is Vice City (we've already seen that city twice). My guess is that the setting will be either present day San Andreas or a completely new city in GTA USA. If it's the latter option, what can R* possibly do that they haven't done already? I don't see it, so my best bet would be some kind of GTA San Andreas Stories, but most likely not that exact name since the "Stories" games are the weaker in the series IMO and R* wouldn't want that connection. However... If I could dictate what R* would do I would force them to make a GTA game set in the mid 1970s with a much greater focus on stunts than in the previous games. Because that would be awesome. Also they could bring back some characters from Vice City, Vice City Stories and San Andreas in such a game. zeppelincheetah Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 It seems like all of the main characters in GTA IV have deep roots in Liberty City and haven't lived anywhere else (save for Niko and Roman, of course), so it doesn't seem likely that there would be a GTA: [insert city here] for the IV canon. Especially since there are two DLC's to continue the GTA IV Liberty City story. If they were to make a GTA in a new location it would have to have all new characters which would feel too separate from the canon of GTA IV. The next major GTA will be GTA V. GTA Wii will probably come out too, if Chinatown Wars is successful enough. There has never been a GTA released on a Nintendo console. GTA 64 was the closest they've gotten. I'm pretty sure it'll be Vice City or similar (like Vice City 2/GTA IV Vice City) But it'd be really cool of Rockstar if they'd make GTA V with a whole new world (GTA world actually). It'd be like GTA:United, Liberty City + Vice City + San Andreas. I can even imagine the story, like you are hunted by the mafia, so you must escape Liberty City and go to Vice City or San Andreas. I would take Los Santos because there are tons of possibilities, new stuff like human trafficking by boat, car, truck, ... And tons of other things. I can't find out how to word what I am saying, but I think if you look you can figure it out, lol. No more gangbanging protagonists please, I hated CJ, San Andreas was a good game, after you left Los Santos IMO. I am not into a bunch of street hoods walking around busting up the local shop. zeppelincheetah Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 if the next major gta was in the IV canon but took place in Vice City it would not be called "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" or Vice City 2 (because it wouldn't be a sequel). it could be called "Grand Theft Auto IV: Vice City"(keeping the "IV" in the title) or the subtitle wouldn't have vice city at all. Maybe it'll be a title that has to do with what's happening in the story of the game. We already have some IV-era subtitles like that, The Lost and Damned and Chinatown Wars. so maybe a Vice City GTA IV would be called "Grand Theft Auto: Lunatics and Gentlemen" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

III era is done and playing as the same people you played as in one game will just be a waste of time. Chaos City sounds bad too, the whole game your in a destroyed city? and GTA the end, bad title, but that can be a nice little game with a couple of small missions being able to play as the old characters I suppose. Anyway, 2010- GTA IV- like zeppelincheetah said, a game set in vice city with some sort of title revolving around the story. 2011- GTA IV- again, like zeppelincheetah said, a game set in San Andreas with some sort of title revolving around the story. 2012- A game to end the IV era set in a newly created city. 2015+ New engine and new era. ( Note I only put 1 year apart because now with the game series set in place and the engine crafted, they should be able to create new games with the same graphics and physics of IV for the next 3 years or so. It shouldn't take them more than 8 month's to develop the game fully, create a story, and make a map. Another 4 to market it, with TV commercials, other advertisements, and the fact that it is a GTA game.They should be able to give us a new game every year or year and half. I care not what the name of the next Grand theft auto will be, all I know is that I'd buy it regardless of reviews, opinions and what not. Like many gamers, if the title contains only the words Grand Theft Auto (or abbreviation GTA), or is titled something as ridiculous as... GTA:Monkey City, I'm going to purchase it.
