hairytowel Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 hi guys! i've been playing in GTA4 a while and got to 44% progress of the game. when i loaded the game yesterday, i discovered a strange problem - I'm always drunk! actually it's more complicated, every car i enter starts to smoke (black smoke coming out of the hood) immidiatly when i get into it. and if i crash it or make an aacident - i start to be drunk, like i told before. never heard about this, and it ruins my life cuz i cant kill people when i'm drunk ;( i play with cheats, but i don't recall any new trainer or such thing before the problem started. please help me cuz i want to demolish the city and make a mess ;( Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

CharmingCharlie Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 The symptoms you are describing are all anti piracy measures, for some reason your game is failing the securom checks. This can be down to you using a crack, illegal copy, ending the launchgtaiv.exe or possibly even dvd check fail. If non of those problems are applicable to you then you are best to either uninstall the game and reinstall it or use the repair function that comes with GTA IV. As a last resort you could visit Rockstars support site and contact them about the issue :- http://www.rockstargames.com/support Now due to the nature of the problem there is nothing we can do about it on this board and these threads soon become a haven for talk about illegal cracks and piracy so I will close this thread.
