TinCan
A few headshots should sort it out. I struggled with this mission and 'snow storm' on my first playthrough, but on my last playthrough they were both a cakewalk. If you need some shooting practice, play a few co-op missions online. Girish
There's no easy alternate strategy for this mission. All I can suggest is to take as much cover as possible and concentrate not only on the Russians but also on Phil. You need to take out any Russian attacking Phil. That's the way I managed to keep him alive.
bcrankshaw
Okay thx ,I'll look at my strategy then
TonyClifton
...and be careful of the exploding gas canisters in the warehouse/boathouse. Hit one of those near you or Phil and it's adios amigo.
SentinelXS
right before the shootout begins, when Niko and Phil are both still in the cargo truck, back up a little and turn Phil's side of the truck away from the boathouse before he exits the truck. doesnt give you long but it does provide phil with a few extra seconds of cover since he is now forced to walk around the truck while Niko can clean up a few of the initial shooters near the entrance to the boathouse, giving phil a little extra life when you actually enter the boathouse. also concentrate on making 1 shot kill headshots instead of hitting the bodies which takes several shots to kill. another thing that seems to help is pay attention to the shooters up high...they seem to be more accurate than the shooters on the ground and caused me the most trouble, for damaging phil, when i last played this mission. -XS
bcrankshaw
Thx all for the input .I completed it finally and I want to share the little story.I decided to reverse onto the road ,as I jumped out Phil opened the door but it was behind a lamppost...lol.So he ran forward but didnt move .I was able to complete the mission completely without him and then go back and get him Edited February 7, 2009 by bcrankshaw
syrdax
Hehe... lucky. Another way is to kill as many as you can from just inside the truck, Phil doesn't get out until you do, so first kill everyone you can without getting out.
Hydro_PT
I usually let Phill talk with the guy while I take cover near the wall and start shooting. He takes some time to kill the guy that talks to him, while that you can kill lots of enemies. I usually kill first the guys on top, they have a good aim and Phil cannot take them out (at least he never shoots them lol). This mission is a pain in the ass because if you fail you must drive Phil to the truck and then the truck to the boathouse. Why doesn't the savegame works like in the final mission? If you fail the final mission the game will start right on the end of the pursuit, so you are only left with the shooting to to.
Xboxless
I failed 1-2 with AA on and like 2-3 with it off, the only way I did it with AA off, was to go balls to the wall shooting. After I failed I realized you have to shoot everything as fast as possible, the first time I did it I tried to get all tactical, but you just can't. You can't get in cover, just shoot, shoot, shoot, and shoot, and then you win. I think it is funny that some of you say get in cover, and then my strategy is completely different, it is weird. TonyClifton
It certainly can be a tough one to complete. I used to stay in the van and shoot out from there, but found the van soon caught on fire from being shot to sh*t by the guys inside!
Charlie Lucky
I like systematic, repeatable, reliable procedures. Here's my take on this one: Park the truck near the right side. Exit and run back around the back of the truck; forget about Phil for now. Start sneaking along the right side of the building towards the back. Use cover and look for targets outside. When that's all clear, peek into the building from the near corner. Using cover, take out all the targets saving the one nearest to where Phil is lurking for the last. He won't enter the building while this guy is still active! When he's finally down, Phil will come right on through the place safely to start the boat chase. Just go like a bat out of #3!!
