BWARazor
Hi Guys, Welcome to the M4 Modell Thread. I Glad the progress is already almost done, it was so much work , but not finished yet. And till theres no modelling-import for GTAIV I cant show it ingame, but maybe i could show it in GTASA ingame. The Model is 100% of me, i didnt put a GTAIV or another Model to edit like the MP5 (It was just a edited version of GTAIV , like i discribed). [email protected] when the picture was made (its actually the newest version): 1827 Made by: Razor (me; also known as BWARazor) Made in: 3dsMax Hope you like it! Progress : lllllllllllllllllllllllll25%llllllllllllllllllllllll50%lllllllllllllllllllllllll75%lllllllllllllllllllllllll100% Green: Done Red: Not Done -Basic Model (50%) -Textures (10%) -Some Details (15%) -All Details + No more Bugs (25%) Pic: Edited February 7, 2009 by BWARazor
javi13
Nice. You should work on the barrel though, and make the black thing a hole instead of just a texture. And I don't know if it's just me, but the whole model looks a bit squashed.
BWARazor
Yeah, like i wrote down bevore, its still coming. Look at the progress list: Green: Done Red: Not Done -Basic Model (50%) -Textures (10%) -Some Details (15%) -All Details + No more Bugs (25%) Progress : lllllllllllllllllllllllll25%llllllllllllllllllllllll50%lllllllllllllllllllllllll75%lllllllllllllllllllllllll100% But can you tell me what exactly you mean? TTKRickJames
Very nice work, but the handgrip is a little out of whack. look at this M4 and you will see what i mean. And I think what he meant was that black box on the end of the barrel it should be a hole that goes through the end of the barrel.
topeira
the model looks really nice so far, man. good job. i think that the version of the M4 in the game has a loner barrel. you are doing the even shorter version of the M4 and since i think this gun should stand against the AK than it should be the version with the longer barrel. p.s. - did u make an MP5 version for GTAIV??! like a real MP5? not the current gun we got now (i cant remember it's real name but its most definitely not an MP5)

adijaga2
Perfect model! But i think the texture is too bright ( or its just a max light render effect )
loczek47
i think the texture is too bright ( or its just a max light render effect ) NOOO! Don't listen to him! Darkened skins for guns suck

topeira
Yeah i did, theres a thread about it! u mean this?: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=390598&st=100 cuz the MP5 looks awesome. wonderful job. the python seems to a have a very low poly count, no? p.s. - so u r waiting for a way to import the models into the game now? i wonder how long that will take. i'd love to get more weapons into the game, though frankly, i dont see a good enough reason to put so much time and effort into modeling a weapon that is already in the game. maybe your model looks better, but i bet it took (and stil taking) many hours to model it yourself while if u tried making a new weapon ppl would be more excited to use it, like the MP5 u DID make or the G36C, or 1911 pistol or some other popular guns. loczek47
[ i dont see a good enough reason to put so much time and effort into modeling a weapon that is already in the game It isn't the same. This M4 is model A1, shoots faster than IV M4, and is smaller as you can see.

Yeah , on one side youre Right, it costs a lot of time and nerv, but i can tell you why . First its to increase my modelling-skills , second its a lot of fun, And the 2 best reasons are: Imagine you were me, the model you made took a few hours to make, (included texture-mapping) Then , you have so much work behind you, and you can see the result in the Game! Holy Shi* thats a fuc*ing great feeling! And the second reason is that i can share my OWN work , and when people say : Good Work! then i think the work was worth it. ---------------------------- by the way: The M4 in the game is another version! by just looking on the front side and on the part where the reddot is , you can really see the difference!: Update -------------------------------- I know that the weapon is a little to small and that CJ doent holt it Perfect, but its just to show you how it COULD look in GTAIV . So dont be to critical with that shot! Image: Edited February 8, 2009 by BWARazor
topeira
hey, u r a good modeler, if i was to judge by the MP5 and the M4 , and no one is modeling well if he doesnt like the process on it own, and if u r enjoying modeling (like i enjoy illustrating, as it's my day job) than i am the last person to deny u of what brings u joy. and if a pat on the back from users makes u proud than double the fun. however, as a IV gamer, i would assume that most of us will love new weapons more than remodeled old ones. im sure many would love a different M4 and appreciate the change but these same ppl would probably love a new G3 or something more than a replacement of the same gun. i assume u agree. i hope that u will finish the M4 as it's looking fabulous (the more refined parts, of course) and i just cross my fingers that u will do more weapons, and more new ones too, so when we can integrate newer models into the game than u will be ready to go. p.s. - when da f*ck will we be able to get new sounds. that glock sounds like a fart and i spit louder than the sniper rifles... BWARazor
ok Thanks. BTW: I think its possible to change sounds? with Open IV or Spark IV? Sorry if im wrong, but i noticed there was anything new with sounds, but i wasnt interested yet
[MenaceMovies]
Is it just me, or is that gun CJ is holding looks photoshopped? Have you even got this working in IV yet? If not, that topic title is very deceiving.
