Vice City features to San Andreas

Hey!I've started to play Vice City and complete it for 11th time.And when I was playing I tought it'd be cool to convert some of VC's features to SA, here's the first one:

 

Dive

You know, when you press left/right with the jump button, Tommy dives away from the car.

You know, when the cops chase some of the civilians and if you punch that civilian, you'll get $50...

How about... some weird checkpoint missions like Cone crazy, checkpoint charlie, PCJ playground, etc. I didn't like the SA ones very much, VC's ones were better

vice city was great, tho there isnt much in features other than the dive and $50 bonus for beating up crims. the one thing i hated about sa was that every time you went into a building whether its clucking bell or burgershot it would have to load up from when you enter and then exit. there were a couple of places that did the same thing in vice city; the mansion you get after taking down diaz, and the hotel you stay at in the beggining of the game.oh and the mall as well.

 

but in the other buildings like the jewelery shop where you can go in and rob, and well stack pizza and ammunation theyre accessible without any loading involved. i would love to ask if you could make some of the buildings you go into open without any loading when you enter and exit. like maybe if you made all of the safehouse's doors all open and close like in that house where as cj you had to go in and rob the place in that burgular mission, and as you go about it you go into all the rooms by going thru the door and they open and close by themselves. maybe you could apply that to all the safehouses, either that or just make the doors all deleted so we can go inside if it makes the coding easier for you. and for the fast food joints if you are able to, just like with the stores in vice city as well as ammunation you could just make all the stores like the clothing and driving schools all open as in walk in and out. hope it isnt too much to ask smile.gif id figure since scarface did it so well and saints row 1 and 2 did it alrite too, and lets not forget gtaiv. oh and the godfather that game had that feature too.

If I understod you corectly, you want me make a code, which lets CJ enter interiors without fading and without those markers....well, it's not possible. mad.gif

i was wondering van, how good are you with 3d modeling? cos what i was thinking is that, if you created a safehouse from scratch thats able to be freely open at all times and have all interiours from the original safehouses, have it like what the stores had in vice city; no doors. you could just walk in and out with no fade to black.

 

oh and i wanna add, nothing is impossible mate. accessing hot coffee from the hidden files that wasnt impossible eh wink.gif

 

if i remember correctly, there was a sprunk factory in las ventures in sa and you could enter it and exit cos there was a big entrance that didnt have a door to close or open, it was just open for anyone to walk in and out. keep that in mind.

use that for inspiration. good luck van. and if it dont work well......... im an optimist soooo.

The thing is, interiors aren't inside their exteriors, they are up in the sky, and if it didn't load you'll end up in an invisible black hell/falling. Also, many modders aren't good for scripting, modeling, etc All together, Most are only good for one thing (there are exeptions tho) You better be asking some awesome modeler rather than scripters

 

Ontopic: May I ask why is the Criminal Ped still WIP? I mean, what bugs does it have/features you wanna add?

Yes, it's still WIP, there are a few bugs, the biggest one is that the f*cking Vista won't even bearly load San Andreas, it'll be ready these days..... wink.gif

Nice mods, I will test it!

 

Here some ideas:

Clothes pickup - You get the pickup and change your clothes to policeman, etc, and this clear your wanted level too

RC vehicles races/rampages etc - Use the RC baron in a checkpoint race...kill X people with tiger (rc tank) etc.

One a little useless but there's noting like that in SA - A save point in a building rooftof...like Hyman Condo...with some weapons, and a heli, of course.

Clothes pickup Is a good, and easy Idea.There Is already a VC like pickup In SA which has a tshirt on It, you can just spawn It, and make It so If the player picks It up, It would change his clothes to certain outfits.
