Is it from a skin to a new Map a mod?

I know that a skin that has been changed is a mod

and a new map too but I have seen so much people that have forgot what is a mod

 

look what this guy told me:

 

the fact that you put in super punches dosent make it a mod aswell it makes it a cheat.

a mod is something that changes a major or noticable GAMEPLAY aspect of the game that dosent so this is an addon or a cheat either way its not a mod

 

and i was shocked because now has forgot what is a "mod"

 

can you tell me if im right or not?

and if i posted this in a wrong topic can some one move it?

From my interpretation, I'd say that 'a mod' is something that changes or modifies the way in which a game is supposed to work. This can be either by replacing a few original game files or editing/modifying its contents. Cheats do not fall under the category of mods because they're in the original game as coded by the developers.
